Trade advice please
Hi all.
I have 20 watches in my collection, 12 of which are Rolexes and recently I’ve been drawn towards an AP 15500ST, black dial. Would you trade a white gold, 2021 Rolex Yachtmaster 42 on oysterflex and a 2021, Rolex Explorer II, black dial for an AP Royal Oak 15500ST with box NO PAPERS but extracts from the archives? No cash either way. Appreciate your input. |

Depends on (1) what else is in your collection, (2) how badly you want the AP, and (3) how much you wear the outgoing watches. In a vacuum, without that information, I’d probably do it.

I like the AP and I don't care for either of those ROlexes so yes. Money wise get buy/trade offers from some of the big boys and make sure you couldn't end up with a complete example.

I’d pay extra for an example with papers.

Do it, I'm in the process of doing something similar with swapping out low for high end watches. But do go full set don't skimp there.

I'd pay a little bit out of pocket for a set with original papers.

Get full set (box and papers, not extracts), so you can register your watch under your name at AP website.
Market price for 15500st is about mid $30s.

I'd do it - you might lose a little value on your side (sometimes that's ok for the opportunity) BUT, I would find another one, with full B&P

Box and Papers bro'
Honestly, based on your current collection, it strikes me that you could purchase an AP without getting rid of anything else. Take it from me, I've let watches go that in hindsight I should have kept. I would sleep better at night. |

Probably, I'd prefer papers if it's still under warranty though.
You'll still have 10 other Rolexes, it's AP time

Of course! The two watches you are willing to trade are not are all that highly prized or valued by most. Get rid of them and get a real watch!

Yours with box and paper ?
If so , the 15500ST must have paper at least. |
