panerai power reserve

im thinking of getting one, ive got a budget of aprox UKŁ3000/US$5000, and like the look of the steel bracelet, i have heard that it is too heavey and quite uncomfortable...
has anyone got any advice on:
-where to get one in the florida(im in orlando soon)
-how much it is
-is the bracelet too heavy(i have had a corum bubble with a steel bracelet[i was young ]and that was ok)

cheers

I have had a 221 which is the Ti/SS combo. It was not at all too heavy. In fact it was very comfortable and I loved it on the wrist.

As for an AD you can go to panerai.com they have a list of all their AD's on the site.

If you are interested, they also have all the models listed on their site too.

I can email you a source for a price list too if you are looking. But for $5K you would be looking at a 40mm version if you want a bracelet. If you want a strap version which is part of why I love my Pannies you can get most models for that range. I would suggest an 88, if you want the bracelet it is about 1K more but you can get a 161, that is one sweet watch.

Best of luck in your hunt.

i think i will go with the leather strap then- i agree it is more 'panerai-ey' and only fancied the bracelet as i had not seen them as much.

one more question and i promise i will leave you in peace

should i go for the black or brown strap?
do you get 2 straps with it?
is it posible to buy straps bracelets after youve purcheased the watch?

cheers

I have just put my rolex explorer I on a leather strap and realised that its a great look Except rolex don't look as good a panny (with the leather stap the ends look rough, you can see the serial nos). Based on the info above plus I'm looking for panny + date plus leather strap + US5K max ..What would you suggest? PAM244?

I would suggest a 104 for the criteria that you are looking at. That is one sweet watch that our own Launch Mini owns. It gives you a historic look of Panerai with an auto movement and of course, endless strap options!!

For just a hair over 5K. you can get an 88, the GMT model. To me that is the nicest dial of any contemporary model that they make.

I love the PR feature on any watch. It's kinda interesting to know how much "juice" is still left in your watch!

Some day, hopefully, Rolex comes up with a model which incorporates the PR feature!!

The moderator at watchuseek.com's panerai forum is female, about 5' tall and has a 40mm panny and a 44mm panny. Both look great on her (btw John, she's in Vancouver and I've seen a pic of her in a blue dress ).

I currently have a 112H. I am thinking about getting a power reserve, perhaps the 44mm PAM 90 the new 40mm PAM 241. Can't decide. Not sure if the hobnail dial on the 241 is for me. The 90 maybe be a better choice in the long run. I really have no preference between 40mm or 44mm.

I'm partial to the now discontinued PAM93, titanium case, PR and lovely blue dial. Yummy!

Cool, I'll go have a squiz! I am having heaps of trouble figuring out all the different models. Rolex is easy... you have several models and then the dial and metal variants.. ppffft easy!!!

This is one of the shots I found that made me go WoW I want one! Photo not mine, is from 'Lia' on WUS forum... hope she doesnt mind.

I have heard nuthin but good things about the TI/SS bracelet the pam is available with. Weight and feel are good from what i have heard. Although a pam on a nice leather strap is nice too....

all depends on what u liek i spose....

btw im gonna be in FT lauderdale/miami oct 21-26....when u headin down?

Yes indeed she does, my arm would never look as good as that with a Pam on it!!!! yes, she could easily be a hand/arm model and therefore ambassador for the ladies of Panerai!!

As I said, she doesnt know I posted the photo here guys... so go easy on your comments!
