Random pic request 126610 | 16600

Hello all,

Just had a random picture request I wanted to see if any one had a picture or two of a 126610(LV if you have them), and a 16600? I’ve had both, but not at the same time. Trying to work out a debate in my head currently.

I haven’t found them together unless I’m keying it in poorly unfortunately.

Sorry for lack of clarity. Looking for some pictures to compare the two models in photos together not individua pictures. Plenty of resources for those.

Even really looking if someone has both the 126610Lv in their collection as well as a 16600 to go off of.

Random pic request 126610 | 16600

Does this help?

I prefer the regular Submariner. I like the way the bezel is more integrated, so to speak. It just looks more refined, less toolish.

Just curious, what are you trying to determine?

No pic unfortunately but I have a 126610 and my brother a 16600 so I had them side by side last weekend. Wish I'd have grabbed a shot of them together.

to left ... 16600 - 14060 - 116610 (the previous ceramic sub, I hope the photo is useful)

I do indeed appreciate the effort, so not trying to sound ungrateful, but not so much unfortunately.

Essentially I was looking for some side by side shots (I should’ve just worded it as such) if any one has them if, that makes sense. Sorry for confusion, I do indeed appreciate your time trying to help, and thank you again.

I have the LV and have long thought it as the perfect green Sub, but often times I miss my 16600 and feel that maybe I would like to have that back instead. So just sort of debating internally and trying to see them both in the same shot side by side to help solidify any thoughts I have.

I love my LV, but at times I almost feel it may be a bit much or ostentatious with the green, and shiny ceramic bezel and all. Plus the symmetrical look and lack of cyclops was pretty cool on the 16600. Plus the slightly smaller dial and non maxi dial as well may be a bit more aesthetically pleasing to me.

On the other side though the 16600 is indeed older and of course discontinued. Whatever I got would be used of course, and as either choice is a keeper, so just thinking how parts and serviceability will be with 20 years removed. (Probably not bad but just comparatively speaking)

So not sure if maybe I’m crazy or not and just trying to sort all that out I suppose.

I don’t have space for both in the collection, and lucky to have the watches I do in terms of quantity.

So just sort of an internal debate I’m trying to settle I guess

Thanks Anthony, that does indeed help!

I figured the LV/16600 comparison may be a long shot either way.

That does help seeing them side by side. I recall the 16600 being a bit smaller, but in a very nice way where it was just perfect really (just off memory). Looking at it though, it’s really not vastly different proportionally, of course some, but maybe not as different as I am feeling like it is.

What are your feelings competitively between the 126610 and 16600 if I may ask?

Thanks again! Absolutely beautiful collection btw.

Thanks Brian!

As promised here’s a better shot.

Differences? The SD feels small on the wrist compared to the 12 series Subs but not overly noticeable. I have a 16610, not pictured, and even that felt bigger than the SD. The SD might feel a tad smaller but sits higher on the wrist.

As to my collection some may come and go but not the SD. Great reference and mine has some personal meaning so yeah it’s a keeper.

Thank you again Anthony! That’s a perfect shot to compare with. Having had both but never at the same time it’s sort of hard making the comparison.

I always remembered my 16600 being just about the perfect Rolex and wishing I never sold it. I added the LV thinking this will fill that void.

It’s a great watch of course, but there’s something special about the 16600 IMO. Its just such a cool watch.

I appreciate the insight as well. The somewhat flat profile of the 12 series case compared to the 5 digit case I think may be what’s throwing me off a bit mentally. As you mention, it’s barely noticeable on the wrist, and in the pictures it’s certainly not that different size wise as I had perceived from memory.

I think maybe the flashier bezel insert and maxi dial may make me perceive it as quite a bit larger than it is as well. Really loved the understatedness of the 16600 I suppose.

You nailed it. Its the dial of the 12 series, Mostly

Everything is blown up. When I wear the 16600 especially with no cyclops it does take a second to get used to. Weight wise there so close I cant really tell. The case on the 16600 is probably heavier but the bracelet is lighter. Obviously. Kinda evens out. 16600 is helluva watch. Mine is a F serial. 2005 and still running like a champ. Fast but running. Hasnt ever been serviced. Yeah I know. I gotta get around to it
