Green OP scarcity

I’m not seeing a lot of these especially at the 36mm size. I see a ton of mint DJs online on c&c and the like
Just an observation/venting

I’ve read that it’s really hard to gat any of the OPs. I waited over a year to get my silver dial 36 mm.

Green OP scarcity

I have been on the list for a green 36mm OP since 2021. AD only gets a few OPs each year, in various sizes and color, and not yet seen the green one.

Really seems odd how hard these are to come by given these are the entry level pieces and they should be easy to come across given that there are no bracelet/bezel options. It's literally just size and dial color.

These should be the most commonly supplied pieces, or at least up there. Granted I realize these probably have huge demand given their position in the catalog, but you would think production would scale accordingly so they are approximately equally as scarce as other models.

Took a good while to get my green OP36. Definitely worth the wait though, the dial is really beautiful. A very distinct, sharp green in direct sunlight and in darker rooms it looks almost black.

Two local friends got green OPs almost a month apart. All depends I guess.

I remember reading, in early 2021, that the silver dial would be almost impossible to get, and would have at least a 2 year wait, which jives with me having just got mine. I’m pretty sure my AD had no OPs, in any size, in their exhibition case.

That’s surprising. When they were first announced I went into my AD to talk about the new releases. I briefly mentioned how the green and silver OPs were my favorite releases. That July I was offered a silver OP41 out of the blue with a tiny tiny purchase history.

I think it’s about the size you want. The 36 is in much higher demand, presumably because both men and women want it. My AD told me to be patient and he’d get me one. And, he did. Would love to see a wrist shot of your 41.

I've been on the mystical "list" for a green OP 36 for about a year and a half and nada.

I was also told they are harder to get than a daytona because of the number of variations, etc. So expect to settle in for a while.

Hopefully, you are playing the game, calling/texting and/or stopping by monthly, just to check in. Being proactive is what will get you the call…

I got the call for my blue OP 41 in 33 days. Of course, I had just purchased an anniversary gift for my wife the day I said I was interested in it.

My wife has the pink OP 36mm and when they see it ADs have told us they’ve only seen one or two over the last couple of years. Seems like limited of each version going to any given AD. I lucked out and got a green 41mm on a random visit in December but that seems rare.

I’ve been stopping by once a month or so. Pretty friendly with everyone there so hoping it happens eventually.

Took a while for AD to get the 36. Then a while for matching 41. This AD said that matching pairs just don’t happen often. There are many sizes and colors and the permutations….

Seems like your average SA at ADs don't even get the opportunity to sell these colouful OPs. MY guess is that the owner of the ADs backdoors most of them because theres no shortage on the grey market.

Took me a year to get my green 36. Got lucky as someone didn’t get it as a pair the day before.

Of all the bright colors, the green is the nicest, IMO! Congrats on getting one.

I really wanted the green when it first came out and debated the 41 but 36 is the right size for me. The 41 looks like a saucer on my wrist.

Tough. About as hard as the tiffany dial.

I asked my SA this very question. The two hardest colors to obtain are the Tiffany blue and candy pink. In reality, all of them are hard to get, because of the various sizes and colors. 36 is the hardest size to get, in any color.

Kat, this also jives with what I was told. 36 is incredibly popular because it reaches both men and women. I bought the turquoise 36 after about a 2 year wait, and it was clearly emphasized that this iteration carries probably the longest waitlist at their branch. Even more so than stainless sports models.

So yeah, some iterations are very hard to come by.

There have even been several articles written about the scarcity of the new OPs, with journalists saying many of the colors were almost impossible to get, from an AD. They attributed this phenomenon to the updated movement, and the new color variants. I feel fortunate to have finally obtained my 36 mm silver dial, which is my favorite. Also, the OPs are marked up more, on the grey market, petcentagewise, than the various SS sport models.
