Madrona Wood Face???
Hi, I am the current owner of a Rolex President from the early '80s. I was told by the previous owner that the face is a Madrona wood face. Has anyone ever heard of this or seen this on another?
Thanks |

Great...thanks. It was my dad's and I never actually confirmed whether or not the bezel was "actually" wood or if it was faux wood or what.

Go to the GD, (where you also posted the same question) and scroll down a few threads and you'll find a discussion about wood dials.

Its real wood and if I remember correctly its walnut but not 100% sure. But if I remember they quite a few problems with some dials cracking, thats one of the main reasons they disappeared.

Birch
Remember them well. That one is Birch...
There was also mahogany and walnut if I remember correctly.
