Another white vs. silver Datejust thread

I am trying to decide between white and silver Datejust without having seen either in person. I was hoping the community can answer these questions for me which will help me decide:

* Is the white dial paper-like or enamel-like?
If it's similar to the white Daytona, this is a no-brainer for me

* Does the silver dial look slightly lavender under certain light?
I'm afraid that it does and that it will be close to the color of the stainless steel but not match it well. Complete mismatches don't bother me, but minor ones kind of do... So slate looks great to me, but yellowy or purplish silver do not

The white is pure white, enamel-like, gloss. Looks like porcelain (for lack of a better word). Great background with wg romans, and goes with anything.

What size? Because if it’s the 36 you’ll have to be ok without lume on the white as it comes Roman-only.

It is really too bad. I can't believe the white lume stick dials would not be popular on the 36.

I have a white dial 41 fluted oyster. The dial is pretty enamel white. Photo below shows it next to a white dress shirt. I love it and feel like it can go with anything.

The white dial does look like enamel, and at one point, I did question if it was in fact enamel

Go green

If you don’t want color I think the silver looks stunning. That was my second choice.

Another white vs. silver Datejust thread

Silver is going to be somewhat influenced by the lighting and the colors in the room whereas the white is flat and will be less influenced. That said, I’m not sure I ever saw lavender in it. Also, it always looks awesome to me.

I reckon either are fantastic, both very neutral in colour, they will go with anything.

I used to own both and much preferred the white dial. The way the lume popped off the dial in low light was so cool.

There is your answer. The silver is both classic and beautiful. Go silver!

I went darker silver (slate) which is another good closely related option.

I think the white is the same material/application as the Daytona and the white Explorer 2, but other owners could comment better on this point.
