Hey guys looking at buying a 1921 but am debating the 36.5mm vs the 40mm. The 40mm seems quite big on my 6.76 inch wrist. Was wondering if anyone knew the actual dial size of the 36.5 and 40mm

Not sure on the dial size, but I have a wrist that's slightly over 6.5 inches, and I finally got to try on both side by side while visiting Chicago. The 36.5mm was definitely the right size for that watch.

The 36.5mm version seems to be gaining popularity vs. the 40mm version but I always felt the 40mm fit better on me despite my relatively small 6.75" wrist.

While the dial on the 1921 is quite large for its case size, the lugs are tiny.

Stunning watch! I tried on the 40mm and felt it fit better on my almost 7” wrist than the 36.5. I like bigger watches though. Whatever you decide, post some photos!

I feel like for vintage inspired pieces the smaller size wears better. Same movement too between the two

I'll start off by stating that I'm a huge fan of vintage-inspired pieces. As a result, I would prefer the 36.5mm edition, which is still larger than the original.

I've had the opportunity to see both sizes in the flesh. Unfortunately, these occurred at different boutiques (Chicago and NYC) and I couldn't do a side-by-side comparison. For reference, my wrist size is approximately 17cm.

Is there a reason the 60 sec counter doesnt line up with the 12 hour marker? Can't unsee it.

Design choice to further underline the unusual orientation of the dial itself? Not sure if I like that choice or not...

I have 17.5cm wrist and struggling with this decision as well. Going to nearest boutique this weekend to see how it looks. I'm afraid the 40mm may be too bulky even though I can pull off 42mm watches.

The original also had the small seconds at 6 o'clock instead of 3

Late to the party, but I have a 6.7" wrist and after trying on both, the 36.5mm version was easily my choice, especially considering it's a vintage based watch. I have to share it with my wife, although it's a little too big for her wrist. While I think this watch is overpriced compared to the Traditionnelle with the same movement, it is a beautiful piece that will never leave my (our) collection.
