Double Red Authenticity

I found this watch for sale the other day and was wondering what everyone thought about it's authenticity. The serial number seems to be pretty high for a double red and I don't think the "FT" matches what would be correct even in the latest double red dials. I am definitely not even close to being able to judge authenticity accurately on vintage watches however, and would greatly appreciate any input.

Is it just me or does that vintage not look too vintage?

Definately looks off to me. Did you buy it, thinking about it, or just run across it?

IMO The dial is either fake or it has been badly refinished as the spacing on the writing is incorrect, take care.

The 579 serial number is common in the DRSD Replicas. The caseback is also too nice for a watch this old. The pearl looks to be an aftermarket insert. Not a tritum pearl at all. The hev valve looks goofy as well. I believe this to be fake, or a Franken which are all too common with the 1665's.

Thanks for all the info. The watch is actually listed on craigslist and the pictures are pretty shabby. I asked for better pictures and the above is what I received. My first instinct was that nothing seemed to match but wanted to get all you experts to weigh in. I'm slowly learning all the little things to look for when buying vintage and I appreciate all the responses.

One word comes to mind ..... Fakeerrrrooooo.

Good ole 'craigslist special'

I doubt a real double red was ever listed there.

The insert isn't right. The pearl doesn't have a 'ring' around it on the 1665. Just like this one.
