OP collection for years to come…

Complete 36mm range or 41mm complete range?
Which collection and why ?

Personally for me 41. Value wise 36 as it opens up to a larger market.

36 is the classic size and had broader appeal.

I prefer the 41 sizing.

Why collect a specific model, no matter which one, or size?

Make sure you see them in the flesh before you make your mind up.

I’m waiting for a 36mm OP in green. I tried on a black 41mm when at my AD and it was HUGE! And I own a new Sub so used to a larger watch.

This. The OP lugs are beefy too.

I'd go 36 because it's the classic size and has broader appeal, and will never go out of style.

I prefer 36 but that’s why I want your opinion.

Neither. I don't think the OP line is special enough to justify the price. I'd jump to a DJ instead.

But some of us prefer time only references. I sure do.

Many big name celebrities would disagree with you. Not that that counts for anything but cool to see big names embracing the fun colors

depend on your wrist size. 36mm is easier to obtain but 41 has more present

I now have two OP41’s, coral red and green. It’s not a big watch to me, in fact it fits quite a bit like the Daytona 116500 which is often vaunted for its comfort. 36 is probably more universal as both men and women seek it out.
When I first saw the new generation of OPs laid out in front of me at a Fall of 2020 trunk show I was pretty sure they’d be a big hit. I personally love that Rolex went bold and fun with the Stella colored dials while still covering the classics with black, blue, and silver. I wish I’d picked up yellow and turquoise dialed 41s when they were around but I wouldn’t pay a premium for one now. I know it’s a long shot but my SA knows I’d like a Celebration dial if one was to become available.
As far as an OP collection, I get it. With my active retired lifestyle I am finding my OP’s are getting more wear than either my BLRO and Daytona. They’re rugged, fun, and functional, basic timekeeping is all they need to do.

As a diehard traditionalist I have always preferred the 36mm models. But, as I get older I find bigger watches are just plain easier for me to read. If it were me I’d vote 41mm for practicality sake. If you are in perfect health with no vision problems either would probably be okay.

Unless someone has a severe visual impairment, that’s a nonissue.

41 divers fit fine on my ~7" wrist. But a 41 OP on me just looks big and clunky.

I picked up a 39 OP a few years ago (now discontinued) and it was a perfect fit.

Are you saying that a Sub 41 wears smaller than an OP41?

Somewhat disagree here. Per my thumbnail, I had a 126000 silver dial, and actually struggled to see the time at many angles. I’ve since replaced that silver dial with a turquoise, and it’s been a nonissue.

I have the 36 mm silver dial, with the gold indices, and am retired, so not young. No issues, at all, reading the time. Perhaps you should see your Optometrist….

I sure hope 20/20 isn’t bad in today’s standards 😅

Loved the watch, but disliked the contrast of sunburst silver dial and gold hands.

Curious, why not diversify your collection? Why go all in on one model? Variety is the spice of life.
