Buying same watch from 2 AD’s?

I heard that once you buy a watch from an AD, that you can’t buy the same watch from a different AD. When they go to register your second watch, it shows you’re registered for that model already ( less than 6 months earlier) and they’ll refuse to sell it to you.
Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for any information!

There is no shared database among AD's. (For their own use.)

No such thing exists if these AD's belong to same company.

Name a reason one would buy the same watch over and over from different retailers?
Curious,

No, Rolex does not track ownership.

If the second AD belongs to the same chain perhaps they can see if you provided your details.

There's a secret button they press that alerts the home office and puts you under special surveillance. They actually allow you to purchase the second ladies Datejust 28 so they can follow the trail in order to infiltrate the broader secondary network. They are watching you.

Love it.

A brewer, a drunk, and a bar tender came to an agreement.

I don't know. Since there's already a tracking chip in the watch (and everything else that we buy) that seems rather redundant.

And sure, you can put your watch in a faraday cage, but then it makes it difficult to read the time.

Not true. You can buy from different ADs. If its the same chain, they may restrict you.

Curious,
Maybe you want one and want another as a gift? I can personally address this exact situation; I just got my BLNR but was “on the list” at two different AD’s (not the same chain). If I ever get the call for the second one I’ll pick it up and sell it (for my cost) to a friend of mine on here that’s been unable to get his since he’s in a very tough market.

And of course there’s always the option of flipping for a profit depending on the reference. Not my cup of tea, but understandable.
