New Clasp Codes

Hello watch experts!

So I have been seeing more instances of watches of the same reference and year having the same clasp code in the 2020's. Does anyone know the rhyme or reason behind this and are the code possibly only specific to the actual year and quarter rather than year and month?

*UPDATE* - found an existing post indicating that the same clasp codes represent pieces of the same production run, which clearly makes a ton of sense.

So new question - is this based on region or can pieces of same production run go to AD's in different regions?
