New Warranty Card Information

Are there any AD reps on the forum that can speak to how the new warranty cards function? Given the name of the AD is no longer written on the card, curious if an AD one knows well can simply "scan" it to determine - or whether Rolex limits the info each AD can access based on whether they sold the watch.

I’m not sure what you mean. If it’s your watch, what info would you need, that you don’t already know? I have been told that only the AD, that uses a special iPhone, scans the card, solely to activate the warranty, at point of initial sale. As the first seller, only that AD has access to your personal info. A different AD would not have access to that info, because ADs do not share info. The card only has the particulars of the watch stored in the RFID chip. The complete model number will tell whether the watch has the original dial color. Presumably the serial number, if checked by Rolex, will also indicate all identifiers, as well.

There are some threads here which discuss the chip on the cards in a lot of detail.

One may want to know which AD the watch came from as the name of the AD is no longer written on the card. I have to imagine that info is accessible - either directly or remotely - via the chip. I agree regarding personal info - only the AD.

Thanks - I searched around and am on one thread where someone broke down the coding, but that thread fizzled.
