Calling all Glashuette Owners

Let's see pics of your prized pieces -- any and all Glashuette models. Here's my Grail, it replaced my Rolex Submariner and I've not looked back. Superior in every way.

Here's a link to the somewhat "official thread" Post some of these pics there and often so we keep it bumped up top.

Such a great brand, I'm still saving for my first, either a SeaQ Panodate or PML!!

Can any owners comment on how the bezel action compares to a modern Submariner?

I agree,

However I place a lot of the blame on the Swatch Group. They don't seem to be very interested in marketing the brand properly. Saxonian watchmaking is second to none, and watch aficionados clearly are not too put off by watches not made in Switzerland when done right. I think ALS is looked upon with the same reverence as the Trinity. Heck, the panodate comp is better than Lange's (although the window isn't usually framed) in that both numbers are on the same plane. It's simply sublime.

I have a great relationship with a Glasutte Original AD and was told that I could pick up (pretty much) any GO I wanted for with a substantial discount off list. It's a lot of bang for the buck considering the price increases of everything as of late.

In a world where 6K gets me a new Breitling Chronomat with a ETA2893, you could probably wheel and deal a PML for around 8K. The difference is like Pop Warner to NFL.

It's different...solid and very German. Zero play. I wouldn't call it smooth, its almost coarse, but still satisfying. Gives the impression that its built to last.

The bezel and the crown are very grippy. The winding action is great.

It's hard to compare the SeaQ to a modern sub apples to apples. They're both divers, but with different personalities.

My sub is buttery smooth and so so satisfying. But - it’s not uncommon for me to look down at my wrist and find that something I was holding or doing has moved the bezel a bit. IMO it might be 10% too loose.

My SeaQ is …. Purposeful. It’s much sturdier, requires significant force to turn, and has less back play than the submariner.

If you think of it as a satisfying fidget or toy to enjoy while aimlessly dazing at your desk, the submariner is unbeatable. If you want to know the bezel is exactly where you left it in a situation where accuracy counts, the SeaQ bezel is better.

Thank you for this! I’d love to see one in person one of these days

Had many over the years, but this one is a real keeper.

Still may add the green dialled PanomaticLunar, as it was a choice between the two when I acquired the PanoInverse (an AD purchase).

Reed Green or Blue makes for a tough decision when buying a SeaQ, they are both amazing!
