Multiple Skydweller

I have a white stainless Skydweller and love it!I am also strongly considering picking up the anthracite gray rose gold Skydweller on Oyster flex. Does that seem like a bad decision? Really looking to pick up a rose gold piece

Multiple Skydweller

Totally up to you. I’d go with a rose gold Yachtmaster, which I think comes on Oysterflex, instead, but that’s ME!

How about the Rootbeer GMT, or is that a no go, because it’s another GMT?

Buy what you like and want. If you really want another skydweller than it’s not a bad decision. Buying a watch that wasn’t your idea sounds more like a bad decision.

100% agree with your stmt. On the other hand I’ve never purchased the same watch twice

Since you're asking, I'll be honest. I love the Skydweller and especially love it in rose gold. However, I really don't like it on oysterflex. The oysterflex looks great with the daytona and yachtmaster but it just looks wrong on the sky dweller (I think because it is not as sporty as the other two). The full bracelet sky dweller is a killer though. I would save up for that if anything.

And for me, personally, after having one for a bit, I wouldn't wear a Sky D on other than OF. I like it that much. It makes the YM look kind of bland.

I wish a rootbeer GMT looked better on my skin as that is a beautiful watch.

Interesting! Hadn’t considered this, love the oysterflex on my YM but the SD is a different watch. Something to consider

I hope I didn't offend anyone with my Skydweller/oysterflex comments because I didn't mean to be negative

Here's some eye candy for you to help you decide.

I owned a prior SkyD on bracelet in blue; the OF just looks and fits better imho. Not to mention it's more comfortable. I'm definitely a proponent.

I have always found the SD on OF to be way too top heavy.

Do you enjoy its size? Looks kind of big but if you enjoy it this way then fantastic!

Personally, I’ve never seen the point in having two of the same watch even if they are different metals.

With a whole world of watches out there, I’d spend the additional funds on another piece to learn and enjoy.

It's large and partly the photo perspective. On my wrist it looks fine to my eye. If you love a watch, it can go a bit larger than ideality would suggest. One nice thing about the OF is the underside wings which help to shape the angle the bracelet leaves the watch head. Excuse the robe and pjs.

Owning a pair of SkyDwellers is a blessing and not a mistake IMO. The rose gold, dark rhodium dial SkyD is amazing. Highly recommended. Will wear very differently than a SS on bracelet.

That metal / dial combo is my favorite on the sky dweller. I’d prefer on bracelet, but because the oysterflex doesn’t work well on my wrist. If you like it, get it!

You’re right. It’s all about the photo angle / perspective

I don't think it's a bad decision. Only you will be able to make that call after you've pulled the trigger.

I might look around at a few other RG pieces before I made that call, however. The DD and Daytona come to mind. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I don't see the anthracite on their site. Do you mean the slate? Personally, I'd be (and am) tempted by the chocolate dial!!!

I'm not much of a fan of brown and I would go for the slate dial, but Rolex have done something really special with the chocolate one. It looks fantastic on the RG watch.

Hence you really like the watch then it's not a bad decision, it depends on what you want, but I would go for something else if I find myself in your position.

I was happiest when I owned three Presidents in different metals :)
Get the watch you want and be happy, is my advice!
