How hard is 1908 going to be to get?

I can't really find anything online predicting hype. Where do folks think it will fall on the scale of unobtanium to yeah, we can get you that?

I think it will pick up where Cellini left off. Not hard to find, especially after the initial pre-orders/expressions-of-interest or whatever are fulfilled.

I like it but priced way to high for what it is imo.

Agreed.

I do like the 1908, but I don’t see it as a high demand piece. Rolex just isn’t know for dress watches on leather straps.

If the 1908 goes the Cellini stocking route, then ADs will get supply that they never asked for.

As for the demand route, it is going to be hot!

I am a big fan of dress watches on leather straps, but for me there is a pretty big disconnect with the fluted bezel. Makes me think of some of the recent bezel-distraction pieces from Longines.

Surely it'll take-up precisely where the cellini left-off. Very easy to get, though you might have to order. (Wish they were all like this.)

Love the 1908s

Tried them on last week on a Rolex event and absolutely love them. I think I will be the first on the list to get these once my AD receive them.

My AD which is a Boutique (and a large one) said they expect one this year. I am on the list.

As others have said, it should be an easy find just like the largely unloved Cellini was.

I agree with Adam. Dress watches just aren’t as “popular” amoung main stream watch folks.

Nice watches, overpriced for what they are and once the initial demand is met they will be easy to obtain. So many other dress watches from brands with more history for making dress watches with better movements and more history at a fraction of the cost. Look to JLC for a better watch for a fraction of the cost slightly pre-owned.

I rarely saw Cellinis at my AD after stuff got crazy, so who knows! It is a nice looking piece, but I’m not done shopping for my desired “professional” models.

I think it'll be difficult for foreseeable future but ease up once people recall they don't like leather strap dress watches. The SA where I shop was telling me how he finds it funny that Cellinis sat for an incredible amount of time, and now people are requesting the 1908 like crazy because it's the new thing.

I’m not interested in the 1908, but was talking with my regular SA about it amidst small talk. He said the same thing—he’s gotten a lot of interest in the 1908 when the Cellini’s sat.

I like it, and a lot, I think, and I am planning a full PM purchase on a relatively short time horizon, but I'm thinking i could spend in that range and come away with a very nice example of a 36 mm DayDate. Completely different animal, I know.

There might be some initial demand but I expect it won't be too difficult to procure once the initial wave has passed

Outside of the brand on the dial, is there any other reason to buy this at list?

I like them. But agree with the consensus regarding cost. Would love for these to be about 12-15k.

Maybe I’ll pick a used one up for that price in a couple years.

I’m guessing they will be hard to find upon first release, as “pre-orders” are filled. (I registered my desire with my AD the day the 1908 was announced.)

After that, it will just depend on how many of these watches Rolex makes.

There is always a demand for a gentleman to own / wear a dress watch … PP has a business surrounding that fact.

I liked the Cellini, but am not a fan of rose gold, so the 1908 is a better fit for me.

Same goes for other brands … most are making rose gold only … the PP 6119R is a beautiful watch, but is not available in Yellow Gold, and is $10K more than the 1908.
