screw the Yankees and Red Sox. Go Dodgers!!!! The best play-by-play broadcaster, best Hot Dog in baseball, and best weather for a ball game.

Hey buddy this is NEW ENGLAND and most of us Red Sox fans were celebrating Olde England's glorious victory of the Australia to regain the Ashes this weekend. I hope you enjoyed your stay up here.

Now we will focus on the rounders [sorry baseball].

All we need is the wild card spot.

They'd better win the East. They bought every decent free agent on the market for 10 years running.

The Yankees have killed baseball. Anyone who supports their way of doing business is not a real fan. The Red Sox aren't much better. A salary cap is needed. MLB doesn't get any of my money anymore.

WITH the yankees their might as well be no baseball. It used to be the national pastime. Look how steinbrenner has driven the entire league into the ground.

Not sour grapes....just the ruin of a great sport.

I like Navy football. They are student athletes bound for a service career, not just hired guns playing for the highest bidder. Do you think they are losers because they didn't go to USC or OSU?

not at all...just playing.... but the core of the yankees is all homegrown.... jeter, posada, rivera, cano, cabrera, hughes, coke, aceves, pena, pettite, and bruney all have come from the yankee farm system.... i love all college football..... i dont care if its navy against colgate.....or usc against notre dame

We are glad to have you!

You do know that the SOX are playing mind games, lulling the Yankees into a false sense of superiority???

rg said it perfectly, the core of the yankees is built up of home grown players. they have the highest percentage of home grown players in the entire major leagues. people are always going to hate the best, but they should at least bring some valid arguments to the table.

Please, the "hate the best" argument is right up there with "don't hate me cause I'm beautiful" there is a glimmer of truth to it but the reason your hated goes much deeper than that, as you well know. Your hated because of your arrogance your pomposity and your financial strong-arm on the rest of the league.

well, our record indicates that we are the best, so there! :) but in all seriousness, like rg said our "financial strong-arm" is the reason teams like tampa bay and other lower tier teams can contend due to revenue sharing. i don't suppose there's a bit of a bias in your anti-yankee stance, but i'm just stating the facts.

You mean your version of the facts, if you asked a pirates fan if they'd rather have an even financial playing field or the Yanks/Sox/Dodgers hand-me-downs, what would you guess their answer would be...

Be thankful you root for the most storied franchise in BB and that your teams structure and market allows them to have carte blanche every year, but try and do it in a way that's not rubbing everyone else’s nose is in it. That's my issue with NYY fans they can't celebrate or extol without taking it out on someone else.

I'm thankful my teams been able to compete this decade though this may not be their year, if finish respectfully and don't crumble I'd have to say this year and decade has been a success.

As for the Yanks, they still have to win in October with A-Rod we shall see, though Jeter seems to be on a mission and Sabathia is holding up.

my version of the facts? the only facts i mentioned were the yankees having the highest percentage of home-grown players in baseball and the revenue sharing bit. those are THE facts, not just my spin on a stat. c'mon man.

Which roster are you speaking of? Currently, beginning of the year? Last year?

You didn't say anything about revenue sharing other than TB competes because of it, that's not a fact. The Pirates get revenue sharing they're not competing, if you said revenue sharing is the reason certain teams didn't get contracted or moved that to me would be a fact

where are we going?

Hate the Yankees (Plane crash? Recurring dream) but don't let it get personal with Yankee fans.

Let's not forget who still leads the series this year. Not to mention what choke artists they are in the playoffs.

'Hate the Yankees (Plane crash? Recurring dream)'

Am I reading that right? You have a recurring dream where the Yankees are in a plane crash? Ok......

Psst, it was a joke of course. Really don't come remotely close to hating them that much. I just pull for the Sox, so have to hope the Yanks fold.

please read carefully. as to your original question-yes it is the current roster and it is a fact that tampa bay receives revenue sharing from the yankees. for the last several years the yankees were charged millions in revenue sharing and luxury tax and tampa bay has been a recipient of these fees for years and years. these are the facts. i said that tampa bay competes because of this and this is an opinion mixed with fact. tampa bay made it to the world series last year and they relied on several free agent signings like carlos pena and troy percival, amongst others. i'm not exactly sure what you're disputing here...the fact that the yankees have the most homegrown players on their roster? or that tampa bay receives revenue sharing from the yankees? i think your just confused.
