DD 40mm, rose or white?

I have an opportunity to buy either rose or white gold DD40 in olive green dial, offered by a local trusted dealer. Both are brand new, unworn, with full set.

RG is asking for 53K, and WG is 43K.

Both are stunning, RG is more popping for sure, WG is subtle but stealthy. On wrist WG looks blended in with my skin tone, but RG draws more attention. I personally think I can handle both but obviously I can only buy one.

There is this 10K difference in price, making a big consideration factor. What would the crowd say here? Does RG really 10K better than WG?

The Rose Gold retails for $41.5 USD, and the WG same. The better question is, why is he marking up the WG even?

Also, are you deadset on getting an olive green dial? I'm wondering if you went to an AD, if you can't get a RG in another dial for $41.5 fast (ie in the next few months)?

if you don't have a gold piece, I'd go with RG personally first....

RG Olive hands down, the dial works incredibly well against the RG case. $53k is a bit high for the RG Olive, I have seen them $45-$48k on Moda.

$45k is a stretch but $48k is doable IMO

I prefer the WG. RG does not work for me as the color does not match my skin tone.

I would pass on both The yellow gold is my favorite.

If I love the watch, skin tone will never be a factor in choosing between metals. Go with what you love, but never overpay.

thanks for all the inputs. Decided to not go with either of it.
It's just not the time for me to have a DD yet.

For you, WG for skin tone... and if I may add, can be worn a bit more casually.

Tho if you want a timepiece that pops, the Everose will sparkle.

I think of rose gold as a ladies’ color, and white gold resembles SS too much. So, I think you made a good decision, regardless of your reason.

Agreed, that was one of the reasons.
However my characteristic is just not a strong type to hold a full yellow gold. So rose is too girly, white is too stainless steel, yellow is too strong and shining. That means DD is not for me at all?
That’s why I have a two tone yellow gold dj36, combination of the best for me at least. Even though I know lots of people look down two tones.

I know, I know.
I have been eyeing this piece for couple of years.
I just need a good excuse, such as big anniversary, and a big fat bonus before I can even initiate the conversation with wife.

I think you made the right choice in waiting it out. I’d go RG/olive between the two you’ve listed but not at these prices.
