Snoopy vs SkyD
I know this is a Rolex group, but what would you choose between the Omega Silver Snoopy 50 and the Rolex SkyD? What if you were only getting the Black face SkyD? Would love to know your thoughts. Thank you.

Only getting the black dial?
I'd cope with it somehow. The Snoopy 50 is a very nice looking looking watch, front and back. If you want it you should buy it. It ain't no Sky Dweller, which is a remarkable watch for what it does and how it does it. I think it also looks good although the black dial looks particularly busy because of the lack of contrast between the dial and the 24 hour disk when the sunburst is asleep. Given the different aesthetics, not to mention complications, is it really a case of one versus the other? They are completely different. If I could not decide I would be inclined to keep my money and wait for something else that compelled me, because something always comes along. |

For me it is neither. I am a small wristed fellow, so the Sky-Dweller is automatically out (also I really am not a fan of the watch in general). I do like the Snoopy50 but I prefer the 45th anniversary version....however the hype train that surrounds both versions has made the prices too silly.

I love Omega, but the Snoopy doesn't do much for me. The Sky Dweller however is a grail that I don't believe I'll ever own. A bit more than I'm comfortable spending, and still retain my wife!

Snoopy and it's not even close. Just a much more special watch with much more history and lower production. I would take a snoopy over any SS watch in the Rolex + Omega catalogue save the Speedmaster 321 calibre (which I would argue is just slightly more special than even the Snoopy).

Sky-Dweller without a doubt for a masterpiece of engineering.
But I still like my SpeedMaster sapphire sandwich.

The Sky-Dweller for me. A great watch with some real wrist presence and functionality. The snoopy is a gimmick watch to me.

Snoopy vs SkyD
I am unapologetically a Snoopy hater, so I lean very heavily towards the SkyD but it does depend on your wrist though. The SkyD is big and thick and I think you need at least close to a 7 inch wrist to wear it well.

I can’t decide. One’s a chronograph and the other an annual calendar.
Comparing the two just doesn’t resonate with me |

Snoopy hands down. You can always get a sky dweller. Snoopy is much harder to get

If I had bigger wrists I would definitely rock the sky-dweller. To me it's a very interesting watch.
And while the speedmaster is obviously classic, the addition of snoopy could just as easily have been mickey mouse or donald duck. I don't get that part of it.

Definitely the SkyD. Love the black dial.

Skydweller without question. And I'm sure I'm in the minority but I like the black dial even more than the blue. It changes from a jet black to slate grey depending on the lighting.

Snoopy has a great history and is a excellent looking watch. Made in too many editions over the years. I had a Speedy and was not impressed with build quality. It was a decent $3500 dollar watch. Gone in 6 months.
The SkyD is an exceptional watch technically. The operational adjustment is amazing, one of the best movements made today. In black on Oyster it is handsome and a bit sporty. I Like a watch with some heft so size is not an issue. I like the SkyD as it is much more watch. Don’t understand the huge premium for a Snoopy when there are so many out there? |

I had a SkyD and now have the Snoopy. Both are 42mm but the Snoopy is way more wearable for smaller wrists. SkyD is too thick.

I'm not a blinkered Rolex fanboy, but I'd still choose the SkyDweller every single time over the Snoopy.
I know all about the Snoopy connection to NASA, but the latest Snoopy Speedmaster is an exercise in gimmickiness IMO. It's just a normal Speedmaster in a fancy suit. Now, if we were comparing the SkyDweller to the 321, then I'd probably fall on the side of the Speedy as the 321 IS a special watch. But against the Snoopy? Nah.

And there's the evidence!
I may just have to go grey for one as I'm STILL on the list at both a local Omega AD (who say they've never actually seen one in person!), and the London Omega boutique who quoted me 6 years wait (and no actual guarantee of ever supplying me with one).

I would definitely choose the SkyD. But to be fair, they are 2 different watches and you can't really compare them to each other

I'm not sure what the gray delta price is there, but here it's quite reasonable. IMHO its worth the ask on the secondary market. I believe the price has gone up about 7% from what I paid at the boutique in 2022 Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

Neither resonate with me. SkyD is too big & I think the dial is too busy. And, I've never really liked any Speedmaster. If I needed a chrono, an El Primero would be my first choice.

Over the 50th, I would go Sky Dweller. I have the 45th Snoopy and that one, to me, is much cooler and exclusive than the SD, so if you have the option, I would go 45th. They're getting hard to find.
