Icon20 my new Datejust41--one issue, need advice

It took years to finally get this Rolex.
One problem, really driving me nuts.

At the stroke of midnight, the date doesn't click tomorrow.
It's not until 12:08am, that it finally switches to tomorrow.
WHY??
I though Rolex was absolutely perfect.
I purchased from authorized Rolex dealer in Eugene, Oregon.
$10,500

Am I overreacting? Or do I have a legit beef?
thanks,
Doug

That is fairly typical, nothing to worry about. None of my Rolexes have ever advanced the date right at stroke of midnight.
BTW, congrats and enjoy your new watch!

And that’s exactly what a good marketing does!
Sells mediocre products as though they’re the best!
Enter Rolex!
Don’t get me wrong by any means, love Rolex and own many but it’s not even close to top 5 brands. Therefore, you can’t expect a perfect, quality product.

Overreacting. They don't all switch over precisely at midnight. My Submariner changes date at 12:07am and Omega 300m at 11:55pm.

Like how the coronet on the crown is rarely straight up and down when fully screwed in (neither of mine are)

Yep. I noticed my Omega is about 5 mins early. My Rolex is about 5 mins late.

I never considered this a problem.

All of the Rolexes I've owned switch a few minutes after midnight. You'll probably also be surprised that the crown doesn't have the Rolex logo sitting upright and straight when fully screwed down.

My Omega 2254 snaps a few seconds after midnight

Completely normal. When they say a Casio is more accurate than a Rolex, it is true.

Yep, totally normal. After a few months I was finally awake late enough to witness the date switch and my 126610 was around 12:07 or so I think.

Was it fully wound? That will make a difference..

My DJ flips over about a minute late even if fully wound. It can be adjusted but it’s not an issue for me. If it is for you, bring it in for it to be regulated.

I’ve had my DJ for almost five years and I honestly don’t know when it flips over. Now I’m curious.

Not an issue for me. I would just roll with it and would not send the watch in. I don't think it is ever going to change right at midnight.

Don't worry when the date changes it can be a few minutes either way its how the hands are set on hand stack. Don't forget its a mechanical process, Rolex uses a cam system they can be a bit slow to slide off the cam to change date. But what's far more important when you wake up in morning and you can see date has changed it proves you are still alive and well now thats far more important.

Now I’m worried.
Mine doesn’t make a “click” sound.
Still under warranty.
Should I bring it in?

My DJ41 does it at 12:07. Always has never been an issue. As mentioned it’s a mechanical process it’s just fine. Every time I hear that click when I’m up late, I know it’s 12:07 with a great deal of reliability.

Clicking sound is very subtle. I was exaggerating by using the word “clicking”. But it definitely makes a sound.
If you still can’t hear it, get your hearing checked maybe?
