Interesting that RSC - Dallas has a credit for no polish. The quote came overnight and was only mailed from Houston to Dallas four days ago.

Have to agree but today there is a anti polish syndrome with many god knows why with today Rolex watches getting a extremely pampered life.These pampered watches could have around 5 RSC services before you would notice any difference thats around 40 plus years of wearing. My own 16600SD had a very hard life working underwater yes got scratched and been serviced by now 4 RSC world wide 23 year old still ticking and looking good today.

Exactly. I don't get this fear about getting the watch polished, and also sellers boasting about watches with no polish like it somehow adds value. Bad polish, sure, can make the watch look worse, but RSC does a good job of polishing, and $150 is a great price. Anyway, to each their own, I suppose. Nice SD, btw!

For those that don’t polish, great news. Bas mentioned the credit in Europe but didn’t know if it applied to the US. Now we know.

Had my Z serial sub polished by the RSC and my lord, those beveled case edges were brought back to life and made me fall in love with the watch again. No idea why you wouldn't opt for this service for a post 90's watch.

It depends on how much material has to be taken off.
Modern Rolex watches don't have bevels and maybe best left alone and un-polished unless they can be best dealt with by being laser welded

I am currently wearing a prime example.
It's a well considered judgement call thing

I'm a fan of beveled lugs, but I don't think the Z serial sub comes with them.

It's a 5 digit sub, so yes there were beveled edges to start.

If you have an M serial 2007 Sub / Sub Date, GMT (16710) or Explorer 2 without chamfers / bevels there is something wrong on your watch.

Z serial sub comes with chamfers bevels. Any sub before ceramic bezels have chamfers / bevels when they left factory

It’s not that simple. Chamfers and bevels over time have changed and some versions barely had any. My Z series Sea Dweller has very small chamfers. I bet the same is true for regular subs from that era - especially no-hole versions.

I had to send my Coke GMT, D serial, in for repair and a service and it went to Toronto RSC. The stem broke ( I think ) and I allowed them to polish as needed. The watch came back, beyond perfect, better than it was when I purchased it as a safe queen ten years ago. The polish is equivalent or superior to my Subc which I purchased new. I'm more than pleased with what RSC did, the price, and the effort my local AD made to ensure all went well. I'll be sending the Sub in next, and I'm looking forward to it.
