Does winding a chrono while subdials are not reset damage the movement?

I have the hour marker and minute subdials pointing to particular numbers that matter to me. If the power reserve runs out and I manually wind the watch without resetting the chrono all to 0, does that damage the watch at all?

Does it matter on the movement (vertical versus horizontal clutch)?

Thanks

No - the act of winding up the mainspring is independent of the Daytona in both timekeeping and chrono module operation.

Thanks, is this true for all (or most) chronos? I specifically have a code 11 that I do this with but was also curious for Daytona and other brands

So it’s ok to leave the subdials at specific points? Not sure how the movement works but wouldn’t want to put extra tension on the teeth of the gears/wheels etc for the hours and minute subdials

Since your Q was in the Rolex section I only answered about the Daytona. I don’t imagine the answer would be different for any other chrono like the 11.59 as long as it is an automatic movement with a vertical clutch.

For the avoidance of doubt, a manual movement with a chrono module coupled in some other manner may fetch a different answer.

Chronographs are designed so the regular timekeeping and setting functions are completely independent of the timing chrono functions.
