Which Dial Would You Pick ?
Hi to everyone, I'm new to the forum which I really enjoy reading.
I have an 18ct all gold Day/date president. the watch came with a champagne dial as standard, with an option to change it free of charge within the first 3 months. Having worn the watch for a couple of weeks I wonder whether a different color dial would enhance the appearance more than the champagne, which although it blends in very well with the strap perhaps looks a bit to much gold and not enough wow factor. I would be grateful for a few views, and pics if anyone has the same watch and a different dial. Many thanks.... |

I personally think a lighter dial works better with the yellow gold DD, so I'd personally choose either the white baton dial or the ivory pyramid roman dial

Although not a fan of precious metal watches agree champagne is too much gold especially with yellow gold.Black or white dial looks good myself like Romans or Arabic markers and makes watch a little bit different to the normal seen dials.

Suziedog,
I suggest conducting a search on this forum under variations of daydate or dials and you will find members and their dials. There are some real beauties. There are also posts that include a listing of factory dials. Remember... it's not what we would pick but what picks you!!! Happy hunting!!! |

I'm a big fan of white dials (especially with roman markers) and think your watch would really 'pop' with a nice crisp white dial!

I swapped the black stick dial for a white dial with gold sticks. Love the way the sun reflects off it. Black was near impossible to read in low light.

I must agree that a white dial has a stark, striking appearance and will break up the appearance of all gold. While I like a monochromatic look that having a SS watch and silver dial provide, this doesn't translate into the gold models. (It's like biting into a really rich pastry only to discover the icing is too sweet, and in need of "toning down.")

My color preferences are almost anything but champagne. I like black, white, silver and blue in that exact order of preference. All that really matters is what you like though. |

If you don't care about staying in the "correct" family, then I would agree with kfsal. Except, I wouldn't get the romans with the black MOP (the numbers are too hard to see at certain angles IMO), I would definitely get the diamond settings.
The Meteorite is spectacular also. Choosing between those two is a matter of whether you like a darkish/black color on YG or a whitish/silver color. I think the black MOP looks more formal, while the Meteorite looks more casual... I was thinking of one of those two dials myself for awhile. I still am considering them, but have moved into considering MOP Myriad Emerald now (with fluted bezel instead of diamond, and on a presidential band). |

I really think that the silver dial with batons looks so classy and elegant with the yellow gold, also, on a practical note you get lume!

Firstly let thank you all for the helpful comments...
Those who posted pictures, even more thanks....... At the moment I am moving towards the white dial. I agree that I will be restricted to certain dials when I do the replacement and that I will have to pay extra for other dials, it must work the same here in the UK as in the USA. Anyway, bottom line is the champagne dial has to go and a decision has to be made. Best Regards to you all... |

Getting near to a decision now.
Could be down to White with Roman numerals OR Ivory Pyramid Roman numerals. If anyone has a picture of an Ivory Pyramid that would be great..... Can't afford a Diamond Dot, I'm nearly skint after buying the watch! |
