Get Out And Hike..

Too many of us are depriving ourselves of a long and fulfilling life by sitting in front of a computer all day..

While the weather is still good, get out and take a hike.. it will do you good and you might see things you never expected..

Last week I took a nice 5 hour hike in the Sierra Nevada's........

One end started at The Devils Post Pile (well, it was a half hour to get there just to start)

And a couple of hours later, I ended up at Minaret Falls........... really much larger than the photos suggest.. You could stand on the rocks and dip; yourself under the water for a heavy duty shower:

Do yourself and your heart a favor.......... get out there........

Then you can settle down for a nice cup of coffee and a donut..... Hey, it can't all be hard work............

Nice pix... But, I prefer the Mammoth area when it's covered in snow and I'm skiing down the hill...

I limit myself to just one hour of tv and computer per day when the weather is nice. I agree with you, get out and move.

Too right!

If being inside was so good then why does everyone have an outdoor scene as their background/screen-saver?

Interesting rock formations. I have to do some research on this.

I was there thirty-nine years ago. A little too close to the road, as I recall, so everyone drove in; but I recognize Devil's Post Pile like it was yesterday.

Try backpacking out of Mammoth. Great trips, gorgeous scenery.

Great photos!
Brings back fond memories of fresh air! I can't wait to get to June mtn to hit the slopes this season. Any Californian who hasn't been to the Sierra's needs to make the trip...good for the body and the mind!

I think I would get out and hike too if there was scenery like that to see around my neck of the woods.

Keep the pictures coming!

Larry: I've given more thought to your opening post. It deserves more than passing mention that you happen to be correct. Getting out in the outdoors really does improve the quality of life. Right near my house is a wonderful state park, woods, and a lake with trails around it. In the spirit of what you so cogently(like that word?) pointed out about life, everything and the universe, I'm going for a walk tomorrow!
