Available stock in the Caribbean while on a cruise

Hello all

I'm off round the Caribbean on a cruise in a couple of weeks and I'm just wondering if I should get prepared with my finances, just in case the AD's have some stock to walk away with?

Has anyone been shopping post Covid and if so, what do you reckon my chances are of getting a nice watch?

Ok, just as I thought really... Do you think they'd sell to a tourist even if they did have stock?

Always have finances with you when going near a AD!

I'm only looking for a rolex really but I'm just wondering if the ADs in tourist areas are more likely to sell to clients with no previous buying history

That time we walked into our AD and they had the absolutely perfect LDJ31 for my wife. We had no idea what she even wanted really, but out of hundreds of configurations and sizes of the LDJ line as a whole, there it was and we walked out with it!

Historically-speaking, from about 5+ years ago yes you could walk in and have a nice choice of Rolex timepieces to purchase. As we know things have indeed changed in recent years.

Give it a year or three and things may get back to historic norms

A couple of good vintage watch shops around Southport that I can recommend

Probably have a better chance than in somewhere like NYC, but remember even these tourist hot spot AD’s have loyal repeat customers that may be business owners or have vacation homes in these locales, etc. There is no shortage of buyers for Rolex at retail prices (currently).

Interesting that some members say they only sell to tourists and others saying there's very limited stock.

I'd better get my money ready, you never know
