Picked up this grail for me Genta Mickey Mouse watch

Recently picked this Gerald Genta Titanium retrograde minutes and Calendar at the Christie’s auction in Hong Kong for yes I know I’m crazy $26000+ BUT it’s worth so much for to me! And I battled it out with a bidder in Taiwan for it.
The good news is that if you have looked into the prices of these GG MM watches you will see that there are other crazy people just like me 😂 who clearly have a love for these watches. And it’s hard to find these in a larger size as most are 36mm, It wears like a 42-43 but I think it’s a 45mm.

So Here’s my story.
So for the last 20 years every Christmas 🎄 I have bought my mom a cheap Mickey Mouse watch for Christmas and for the last few years we have had a falling out and haven’t spoken much if at all for long periods of time.

This watch reminds me of the good times, I had with my mother in the past and helps me forget about all that has happened in the last few years and I know she doesn’t have that many years left, and the lord knows she is a cranky ass old woman but this reminds me of the good and of her and always will.

No matter how cheap or silly or stupid someone might think a Watch is. That same Watch can mean the world to someone else and is absolutely PRICELESS!!

I love genta mickey watches. I used to stare at them in the case at the Main Street shops. Could not afford them for $250 or whatever they were in the 80s.

And yes you are crazy but aren't we all.

This and show her the watch and if she likes it let her have it. It will come back to you and stay in family heirloom.

Great watch, back story heartbreaking (call Mum this holiday and tell/show her). And so lovely to hear of a watch where it’s intrinsic value is irrelevant.
