uh oh...scratch

I've had my watch for a whopping 7 months and I just now noticed these scratches on the band. Don't even know how I did this. I know watches are meant to be worn and I have been wearing this watch quite often but seeing these scratches hurts my feelings. Any point to having them buffed out?

That’s nothing. No point getting that cleaned up. High polish shows everything and it will look that way again soon. You can get a cape cod cloth if it bothers you.

This is the issue between wearing a watch or not. I like to see it worn. If you polish it after a few weeks it is again te same….

Unfortunately PCL's are scratch magnets. There is no way around it.

Every scratch is a memory, the ones you don’t remember are probably the best ones. If you enjoy the watch enough the scratches will accumulate and even out.

The clasps on all my watches take the brunt of scratches. The clasps on my Daytona and BLRO are both pretty rough yet their PCLs have minimal damage. Of course the Pepsi’s Jubilee bracelet looks great but so does the Daytona’s Oyster. These are 4 and 5 years old.
My OPs with all brushed bracelets hide hairlines much better.

Eventually you’ll have enough scratches they’ll blend into a nice haze. It’s part of owning a watch with PCLs. Only alternatives are to make it a museum piece or sell it or keep polishing until it disappears or wear and enjoy it for what it is (a great watch).

After you get back from service you can get a film kit put on. I have done on most of my timepieces. Takes forever and is tedious, but I like to keep everything perfect

it's totally fine. PCL's are ALWAYS going to get those hairline scratches, it's impossible to avoid them. Personally, I think they add character to an individual's watch, gives it some personality.

I am on the ocd side myself and scratch’s do bother me but the truth is when you send it for service it’s going to come back looking brand new so just wear it and enjoy it. I’ve learned no one notices scratch’s more then you.

Unfortunately scratches are going to happen you could get it polished but what’s the point they’ll only come back. Watches are for wearing and it’s good to see yours is getting plenty of wrist time

This. Personally i prefer Jubilees (which show the same scratch pattern on the clasp, mind you) and brushed Oysters, but that's me.

Polished Center Links are scratch magnets and it is for sure annoying but you will get used to it. If you buff them out they will come back anyway. I would leave it like that!

It's normal. You're dragging your watch on your desk or table. It's a bit much for 7 months so you could practice not resting the watch on surfaces.

Good idea. $1900 for that one on trade. I think 15% more if you show up with a rubber strap and buy one.

Comes with the territory. Wear it, and forget it. If it gets really bad, then think about a light polishing.
