Rolex twinlock question

Hi, I just found this wonderful forum :) I have questions regarding my GMT-II. I noticed that the twinlock crown can be screwed in a little bit more after sometime. I can see this since I remember the coronet direction when I first got the watch. That does not concern me much, however, I now doubt whether I really tighten the crown enough to provide sufficient waterproof when I first got the watch??? I read somewhere that the twinlock maintain water resistant even if the crown is unscrewed, is this true? In my case, the crown was screwed, but probably not very tight, I simply stop when it begin to feel tight.

I don't swim but I do wash the watch regularly and the GMT-II is pretty new. My question is should I be concern about the moisture or water get into the watch from watching it? I'm not sure if I tighten the crown enough when I first got the watch. I can tighten it a little bit more now, about 15 degree clockwise more if I want to. Thanks.

Welcome to TRF. Glad you found your way to our merry madhouse. Join in the fun. Don't be bashful.

As for your question, I have the GMT also. It will maintain its water resistance even with the crown unscrewed. But it is best to screw the crown down when you are not setting something. And as long as you don't try to exert an excessive force on it, you won't harm it by tightening it to a stopping point.

Does the coronet face up when you finish tightening the crown? If so, you know you've tightened it sufficiently. Not a real clear pic, but you'll get the idea.
