Oyster Precision arrived today and it's TINY!?
ok i have to admit it was an impulse purshase as it was mint, and I mean mint, and the black roman numeral dial looks fantastic, but compared to my speedmaster broadarrow it looks like a girl's watch
I'm not sure I can live with it and may have to sell it after only one day - I think the main problem is that it's on a leather strap, I'm wondering if the oyster bracelet would balance it up a bit and make it look less like a children's watch? |

Don't be too hasty. Embrace the diversity of the size difference. Might turn out to be a nice change of pace to wear a smaller, lighter watch. Just got my DJ back from my wife and must say I'm thrilled to get it back.

These watches live a life measured in decades and centuries. Styles will change. The flava-flave trend for huge watches will not last forever.

I agree, the big, bigger, biggest size, it is all a trend.
I friend of mine he went recently from a Breitling Crosswind back to the new model SS Datejust. His reaction: it wears great!

If you can read it, it is the correct size.

I rather enjoy smaller but then my wrist is small compared to my hands. I had to go to a strap because it was difficult getting a bracelet over my hand. Course then you could always go for this instead.

I love the Jubilee bracelet so much but can't seem to find a 40 mm watch to fit it. One reason why I don't buy the 36 mm DJ.......just too small for my wrist. JJ

If I were you, I would sell it; when you are used to larger watches, it's quite difficult to come back to smaller sizes ...

here is a photo of it - it's really stunning and the condition is superb, all for £720.
What I really want is one identical to this but larger. I know there is the new perpetual DJ which has the same dial but it has more shiny edges and is less classic and quite blingy Are there any generations of rolexs like this but larger? |

The bigger the better, I really dislike the smaller ones. Anything smaller than a Sub I don't want.

those overized modern watches are far too in your face and i find them really garish.
think in years to come when you are older, these classic designs are timeless. that is a great watch and for the money an absolute steal. |

It looks great but I do understand your concern. When I wear my DJ 36mm it looks small.
I personally will never buy a watch that is below 40mm anymore.

Gorgeous watch. As already said shell out £300 and put an Oyster bracelet on it.

Looks great. I do prefer the oyster bracelet myself, though. Remember, the Datejust is for a gentleman, and a gentleman's watch is not supposed to be ostentatious and attract attention. A Datejust is not supposed to stand out like an alarm clock and a Datejust is not a sports watch requiring extra size for extra visibility. Presidents, Popes, and dignitaries have gotten by without the need for extra large watches.

One trick that was told me by my AD, whilst wearing your watch look at it in a mirror, you will get a much better, truer idea of what the watch looks like on the wrist then. I have several vinatge watches that are about the same size as yours and they are wonderful to wear, in fact way more comfortable than my bigger watches. I too think that the trend toward bigger is a phase but I do think it will settle down to something around the 40mm mark. I am glad so many like the new DJ11 but for me each time I see it it just does not work for me, the 36mm is perfect! |

thanks for the feedback. I have to say photos are deceiving it does look a lot smaller on the wrist in reality but it is stunning isn't it!
So is there any other later model with the same basic shape and dial that is available in a bigger size? |

Whatever the model number is for the plain bezel steel DJ will get you to 36mm.
I think it looks great. |

I agree with everyone else, looks great on your wrist, but if you cant overcome the size shock sell it. Personally I would give it a few days of wear though...

Looks great! But if you don't see exactly what you want to see on your wrist, I say flip it and keep looking.
