I used dawn diluted with some water, and a ultra soft baby toothbrush. PM or stainless, it works indiscriminately well.

If it's an oily duck, dawn. As for your watch, it wouldn't know the difference.

Does it matter? Any soap. Why do some feel some soaps will damage a steel watch (or PM)? I never understood this

Dawn or soap?

Dawn power wash spray is nice. Most important use a makeup brush for PM. Works great and never scratches if kept clean.

A lot of soaps have aloe and E and leave a residue. Not harmful but not the best look.

Standard, old fashioned blue Dawn works perfect. I use a soft bristled tooth brush and put a couple drops on it and go for it.

Dawn Power Wash is excellent and easy to spray over the watch. I don’t use it all the time and is as strong as I would use when things get really dirty or oily from sunscreen but I do keep it in my tool kit of watch/jewelry cleaning.

I use a drop of dawn from time to time, mostly the organic pump soap my wife insists on by the sink. Either, both

Other than residual handwashing soap or the few times I showered with a watch on, soap and brushes have never been near any of my watches. They all get a bath in the sea when swimming and then a quick rinse under fresh water…thats it.

Any soap that does not harm your skin then I am sure it will not harm any metal. Just rinse well after in clean running water and pat dry with any clean cotton type cloth.

Congrats on that beauty. Keep those PCLs clean and resist the urge to wipe greasy prints off. Save them for the bath. Your links will look great longer.

When it comes to steel, any soft smooth soap without abrasive material added will do the trick.

Dawn or soap?

Another vote for Dawn. I put a drop in my hand, make sure I remove all rings first, run my hand under tepid water, and use the motion of washing my hands, with my watch between them. When finished, I rinse it thoroughly, and dry with a soft cloth. I never use a brush.

I put a drop or two of dawn in my hand, lather it up, then add my watch. I just wash my hands with a watch included. Rinse and pat dry with a soft towel. Occasionally I'll use an old toothbrush for the nooks and crannies around the bezel and inside the clasp.
