Rainbow - how hard is it to get
I was fortunate to see a daydate 36mm white gold version and it surprised me. Great piece of art on the dial.
How hard is it to obtain one from AD? Never saw one in display in any metal color. |

Like most all Precious stone and Precious metal watches far easier to get than most all SS watches as in general not volume sellers unless they are over hyped.

I would have assumed it is far, far more difficult to get a Rainbow Daytona than any Stainless Steel Rolex ... but interested to see if this is a correct assumption or not.

This should be more available since Rolex marketing quotes the price publicly ($119K to $134K here in US)
The availability is virtually nil for the casual walk-in - the odds are stacked against you. But a trusted seller could fetch one up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My favorite grey dealer in NL has the eye of the tiger for sale for more than 2 years now for 449k EUR. It always is marked popular in chrono24 app but it never gets sold. |

I’m confused now as to which watch the OP is considering … the title of his post lead me to believe Daytona unless there’s a rainbow DD

Thanks everyone. I'm referring to this and yes I think when people hear about free rainbow they think about Daytona first.
Even this is not available for non VVIPs I assume? Regular daydate with diamonds are much more available now I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks. I think now rolex is obligated to share the prices on all watches after the Bucherer acquisition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks Padi, I misread the OP. I absolutely love that Day Date. I really wish that Rolex made it in 40 mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rainbow hour markers for 36 mm Day-Date is a lot easier to get than Rainbow Daytona. Some of them are selling in secondary market at MSRP (mid $60K).

Interesting. Is that in white or colored gold? I would be interested in a platinum and I think it's more uncommon

Good looking dial. A little sparkly for me though.

Unless you are established with AD, you have a poor chance of acquisition.

Totally love this reference - not easy to get and way harder / rarer than any SS non sports model.

I’d challenge if this DD36 dial is a true rainbow, as the amount of gradation within colors is much less. Much of the achievement of a rainbow Daytona is the seamless flow within and between colors.
