Ceramic bezel under loupe

From other threads on this topic, i note that some are concerned with the discoloration on the ceremic bezel (esp on the triangle).

Since my BLRO has a similar issue, I read those threads and also agree that the oil/grease would actually/easily put a black stain on the triangle area.

After I wiped that off with a microcloth, out of curiousity i put it under loupe to examine. And from the attached photos, u will see the triangle (and numerals) actually have this grainy texture (which i understand is a result of the PVD) and this grainy texture seems to be why the area could trap grease stain easily.

Yes i know its very trivial and very ocd...

Afraid loupes high magnification etc can and will be a Rolex owners worst enemy,just wash watch once a week with soap and water.Then pat dry with any clean cotton type cloth all grease marks eliminated etc.Might I suggest you put your loupe away and just enjoy wearing your watch in good health, now thats far more important.

Looks perfectly fine to me. Enjoy your watch and stay away from the loupe.

I try not to look under any loupes. Most ‘enthusiasts’ would have a heart attack at the number of scratches on my watches.

Thank you for the replies. Just to clarify I have no issue with possible grease stain / discoloration whatsoever.

I really enjoy and love the watch - Never own a ceramic bezel before so just really curious what resulted in the issue that ppl often bring up.

Just meant to share that it seems to be just this grainy texture of the coating (which easily traps the grease/dirt) and that it shouldn’t be a concern at all ��

Sorry to point this out but you may want to be aware, is that a small crack above the dot on the left? It's on both photos.

I thought the hairline crack was what the pictures were about before I read the post first. Macro pics are a great way to inspect your watch when your eyesight isnt as good as it once was providing you keep it in perspective and not for enabling your OCD. I do it with all my new watches.
I don’t subscribe to the “just don’t look for trouble and you won’t find it”. Ignorance can be bliss, but to me that’s like never taking any medical examinations in fear of finding an issue.

OP: If that is a hairline crack, get it replaces under warranty. No way should you live with a cracked ceramic bezel. It’s an easy Rolex warranty fix.

Thank you for the advice. I can’t really say it’s a crack. It’s invisible with naked eye. Only from some certain angle of light it appears a very very slight mark/scratch.

I am okay with it. Also it seems unlikely that Rolex will take care of things that are only visible with a loupe, otherwise they would really have lots of watches to fix.
