Calling GMT IIc and Exp II owners

I bought my GMT II recently and like any new purchase I monitor the accuracy of the timing as it might need regulating.

I noticed that 24 hour green hand is not exactly in sync with the 12 hour hand at the exact hour, it is about 5 mins out. My previous Exp II has no such a problem.

Has anyone experienced this with their watch and is it easy to adjust by RSC?

I had this runaround, when I bought mine last year.

The first thing that you have to set on your GMT is the 24 hour green hand. Then set the nomal hour hand afterwards, making sure that you sweep past the 12 o'clock position, if required, to get the correct date-change cycle.

Hi

Its not about setting the 24 hr hand to a different time zone. When the minute hand is at the exact hour the 24 hr is slightly off line to the hour. The 24 hr hand is spot on the hour at about 5 minutes past the hour.

Don't Worry! Be happy! No biggie, the twenty four hour hand does not need to be exact.

I have a similar experience on my white Explorer II, but I can not tell if it really is off, or if it is me looking at it from an angle... but it seems to be a bit off, since I have another watch to compare with and that one seems to be perfectly adjusted.

It does not bother me.

(There is a piece of lint stuck in the colour of the text "perpetual" as well, so I know it is mine ;-)

Best,

A

I spoke to Bexley Heath RSC today and they said they align the 24 hour at the 6 o'clock position and at 12 o'clock it does not really matter as all the hands are at the same place.

Why is it correct at 6 and not at 12 o'clock? Surely the watch is designed so that everywhere along the dial is aligned.

Any way they said they can make adjustments and that I should keep the watch for a month to let it settle to see if it needs regulating and they can do both at the same time.

It really bugging that a watch that cost over £4k should not be perfectly finished before they are sold. This is not a Timex £200 watch.

My "V" GMT II lines up. I happened to look at that just last night.

To be honest, having already had (and sold) a GMT IIC, a Pepsi GMT II, and now currently owning an Explorer II, I can say I have ever looked at any of them that closely.
