question for PADI one diver to another

Padi,

Wer'e all aware of your dweller that has accompanied you over the years through hundreds of dives, question - did you ever flood your dweller and had to have it rebuilt due to water in the case?

No and once while guiding a party of divers over the reef at around 20m I noticed my crown was fully unscrewed. But I did not panic as the divers in my charge were far more important than any watch. On return to surface after our full planned dive watch was fine and still fine today. But watch was due for a service but no water got into case just normal routine service and polish like usual. But that was 20 years ago long retired from diving as getting quite old and now quite poor health.Watch now almost 25 years old still ticking strong and expect still be ticking when my ticker stops..

Wait just a minute … you’re saying if I left my crown unscrewed, washed my hands and got some water on my watch it’ll be ok?

Thanks for sharing this story

No. Can’t be. Actually USING a watch? No. I thought you weren’t supposed to:
-Wash your watch with soap
-Wear your sub while on your laptop as it’ll scratch the clasp
-Wear your watch without protective stickers
-Wear your watch in London
-Scratch your watch because it’ll lose $€£¥
-Wear your watch near a magnet
-Go outside with your watch
-Wear one because you’re supposed to have too many Rolex watches to choose from

Refreshing thread. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your good wishes but it's doubtful have stage 3 cancer I beat it once a few years back but now it's returned. So decided no more treatment let nature take its course, had a good life so every day I beat my own record for the number of day's I am still alive is the best bonus. We should all remember the most precious thing we have is life yet it has no trade in value.

Very wise words sir! O so true. It’s such a shame that most people so easily forget what life is all about and obsess about the little things.

I hope you’re comfortable and not in too much pain.

When you were looking for a dive watch back in the day, what made you decide on a Rolex versus other competent dive watches, and a SeaDweller over a Submariner?

Was tempted one day to trade in my Sub date for a SD4K.

It’s a watch which covers all bases for me.

Godspeed to you.
