Interesting observation at the RV Show
Should have gotten into the RV sales business. Lol
Went to the show and both the salesman and closing manager were wearing Rolex. One a LV Sub and the other an SD43. No big deal to me, but what I found funny was they both claimed the were gifted the watches. Almost like they were embarrassed to have the watches. I could care less, glad they are able to have them. In other news, we did not buy a new RV, ours is just fine. The new ones have gotten crazy expensive. |

That’s going to be my line if someone asks about my watch. The feeling of a sales person being successful makes others feel like they should have negotiated better.

I see a lot of folks with Rolex, but upon closer look - perhaps not.

On the very rare occasions that someone comments on my watch I just say thank you.

I’ve been hearing a lot the RV market is in a bit of trouble. Not sure if that’s just internet exaggeration.
My wife and I just sold our 2021 Leisure Travel Van last summer… for a 20k profit! Can’t think of a time on Earth RVs appreciated after 2 years of using it. Prices have just gotten way too high. And people are still buying them I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

People that say this (they were a gift) are usually a replica.

RV sales were way way way way way way up over the last 4 years. Esp during coronavirus. Also Rolexes were already mass market, but even more so today. Many more people of different age, genders, professions have them than 5 years ago.

Right now only the super high end RV's are selling. All of the lower and mid tier stuff is sitting on lots. The big manufacturers in Indiana and Illinois have cut production, laid off workers and are sitting on massive stock of inventory.
Of course, COVID, wanderlust and free/cheap money made the industry a money printing machine from 2020-2022, but it all hit a screeching halt last year. Also, in my opinion, RV sales are some of the scummiest around. Many of the lower tiered products are absolute garbage and sold for astronomical markup. Borderline predatory practices in that industry- but it is the consumer who makes the choice so I guess the free market wins. I would not be surprised if they had on real or fake Rolex- either would fit... they sold overpriced junk to unsuspecting customers, or bought a fake to look like a hot shot. |

Wouldn't it be better to wait for all the mid-tier repos due CV / recent bubble? Top lux is selling, stock market is the market.

Incidentally enough I suppose, when I bought my car I was wearing my TT Sea Dweller and when the Sales Manager came out to introduce himself he was wearing a TT Sub, also with a black dial and I mentioned this and he was very up front that he had won it in a sales contest at another dealership when he was a younger man. |

I got the same line from a sales manager at a car dealership who was waving his wrist 12 inches from my face while I was sitting the desk, "it's just something someone gave me". I asked if it was the new 12 series Submariner since we were killing time waiting for the other salesman and he clammed up, said he didn't know and walked to the other side of the desk. Either not a watch fan with really nice friends, or dodging a closer look at his fake watch, which was my guess.

So on the topic of fake watches, someone on my team bought a fake sub in New York. I have to say I was impressed. You have to carefully look at the watch to figure out it’s fake.
No glidelock, no AR coating on the Cyclopes and the bracelet has weird gaps at the 6 clock lug side. But for $250 it’s a great fake. |
