Longines restored by TRF vendors

My 1969 Longines 8224-4 as restored using TRF resources. Dalton Toledo, a pleasure to do business with, repaired the movement, replaced the crown and stem, and then polished the case and crystal. The watch has been in my family since new and I haven't ever seen it looking like it did when it was purchased in Zurich. I'd also like to point out that -three- other watchmakers have tried and failed where Dalton persevered and got the watch running reliably again...something about tiny little screws being worn out from 40 years of service that hadn't been addressed.

The strap is by Micah of vintagerstraps and is brindle. I installed the lower strap with the cool Octopus facing out for these shots but put it back right to show the slate stitching for wearing. Great strap, butter smooth but a seriously thick piece of leather. Extremely comfortable as well. Micah was also great to deal with, emailed me to confirm details and then emailed me a photo of the strap so I could salivate over it while waiting for the postman. I think when I get another strap I will request the Vintagerstraps octopus on the outside instead of hidden.

What a beauty!
And movement inside it is very similar to one in Paul Newman Daytona`s!
Wear it in a good health!

Cracking looking watch.
Though personally I am not too sure about the design on the strap.
