Submariner 126610LV MK2

Just landed, having had the original Kermit, the MK1 “Starbucks” and now this over the years I can say this is an incredible improvement from my perspective.

It’s the modern submariner I’ve always wanted as I was disappointed with the green bezel on the MK1 which is why I traded it.

This is totally different. I included some photos of the bracelet as well as I am always so happy with the quality and finishing of these bracelets when new.

Maybe I misunderstand something but why is the new green an "incredible" improvement? I like the actual more yellowish green shade that is true to the original Kermit.

That’s why I said from my perspective. These things are subjective.

The green of the post 2007 period Kermit was an emerald/grass green which I feel is the Rolex Brand colour (which was my favourite) this is closer to that, and so I like it best. I thought the Starbucks wasn’t a Rolex like colour and was a bit washed out having owned a 2008 Kermit before that, and personally I didn’t like the yellowish green of the the early Kermits either.

So for me this change makes this a desirable watch again.

I usually don't get into the MK# talk too much, but I agree the newer green is much better in photos than the first version, or the 116610LV "hulk" green. Much more like the original 5digit LV

I might be colour blind but I think that the colour change in the case of the 126610LV is the opposite. When it came out in 2020 then it was a darker emerald green and in 2023 they changed it to the current more yellowish shade (similar to the pre 2007 shade). I actually got mine brand new this week, and it is definitely the yellowish shade.

I think he is comparing the 16610LV to the 126110LV, no the 126110LV MK1 to the MK2, as the bracelet was the same on the latter.

I've never heard the 16610LV as the MK.1, but I might have had my head in the sand

Good image of the comparison I found online, I won’t try and get into how individuals describe colours. I think that’s also super subjective.

The one on the right is the new one. Below photos of my old Mk1 and my new MK2.

MK1 (2020-10/2023 roughly)

MK2 (10/2023 to date)

And for good measure my 2008 Kermit

I know three places that will let you buy one after about $10k in jewelry or non-hype brand spend they said.

Let me know if you need intro.

Used to have 2007 M serial kermit. New one -mk2 is the closest possible variation of that iconic color. Btw original kermit had also change in colors from 2004-2005 then 2006-2008 and so on…

Another side-by-side comparison - Mk1 left, Mk2 right.

In the picture above, notice how closely the Mk1 green matches the official Rolex hang tag strings. This why I prefer Mk1, I feel it’s a much closer match to Rolex’s official corporate green color. But I do concur the Mk2 is closer in tone to the very first 16610LV aluminum bezel with the flat 4.

You are correct. Based on color theory, I’d say the Mark I is deeper or a shade darker because it’s bluer. The Mark II is brighter and yellower.

The downside of the MK1 green is that it can look dull and pastel in certain light.
