Trade for AP ROO?

So I’ve been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now. I have the opportunity to trade in my BLNR and 126660 DSSD JC straight up for an AP ROO 44mm Titanium (26400IO)

I’m thinking it’s a done deal in my head. First AP, lightweight, ability to change bands, diversity in collection etc. What do you think?

I feel I have a little too much blue in my small collection and since acquiring my bluesy, I will be wearing that more often. The Omega I want to keep as my travel, beach watch etc.

I think you've through it through and came up with the right answer.

Tough one, I'm not really a fan of any of the 3 watches involved.

Purely from a functional perspective, you will be one watch down, you will no longer have a GMT and overall you are losing A LOT of water resistance! But, the AP is a chrono so at least you are adding a complication to the collection.

If I was you, I would prefer to look for a time only regular Royal Oak, a much nicer watch than the Offshore, IMO.

Are you gravitating away from bracelet watches? I have a equal amount of bracelet and strap watches and they both have their advantages.
I am very much a fan of lightweight comfortable luxury watches. Its a unique characteristic few have. I would let the JC go but not your BLNR. In my mind your collection would be much more stronger and diverse adding the AP and just trading the one.

Very good deal for you!
You’re giving up $33K of SS Rolexes to get about $37K of a premier Ti APP ROO…..
Wise move!

Speaking for myself not a huge fan of any of the RO range but you must do what you want to, yours is the only opinion that matters.

If this is the one without bracelet I would not do the trade.
Only reason why one should consider buying an AP is the bracelet imho

Those were thoughts I took into consideration as well. I will be down a watch but adding a chrono and a HH piece. So that's where my conclusion leads to trading them. Now I have an excuse to add another GMT down the road

Not trying to gravitate away from bracelets but my next piece will very likely be another bracelet. My idea is that I will be wearing my bluesy most of the time I go out or my Omega when I want to fly low key. The AP will be my fun/weekend watch really. Not sure I will miss any of the SS pieces for now. After owning a DD and now my bluesy, I am getting use to gold on my Rolex.

Thank you! In reality, I am going through what I paid retail at my AD and what the dealer got the AP for and I think it's a pretty good trade off! Excited to get my first big piece and will definitely be posting an incoming on the AP side!

This is the good wait. It’s as close to being a kid at Christmas as it gets.

I like the Royal Oak, but the offshore is not a watch I resonate with. I’d recommend not doing that trade.

I would punt the JC and add cash. Keep the BLNR if you can swing it.

Also, there is no such as too much blue.

Considering you bought both SS Rolex at an AD for MSRP...this is a winner of a move. Post pics, its a beauty in the flesh...I miss mine at times.

Congratulations! You'll love the AP. The only thing is... I think your remaining sub may go next cause once a HH watch comes in, everything looks a little different. Please post an update with your thoughts after you recieve your ROO.

Yes all watches lost value from the past two years or so. At the peak, the BLNR and DSSD JC was about $2k ahead compared to what the AP ROO was trading for, so I still feel like it's a good deal. I'm also going by what I paid retail for my Rolex watches in 2017 and 2018.

To Vinny84 (OP) -
Don’t listen to the noise - only the truth and facts!
Fact - AP RO isn’t very waterproof ( I made the mistake of swimming with it on and had issues)
Fact - AP ROO is super waterproof and you can dive, swim, snorkel and SCUBA with no problems.
Fact - AP (for those who know branding and watches) is a superior name, superior quality and more aspirational than SS Rolex Pilots watches.
Fact - Rolex makes 1.1M watches a year vs. AP at 60K watches. Therefore more scarcity creates more mystique, power and jealousy.
Fact - AP has always been a big hitters watch and their entry level pieces star at $30K with tax.
Make the trade!!!
