116500 White Dial or 126519 Silver Dial
Sorry, way to many Daytona threads, so I apologise in advance, I would like to ask if you had a choice, 116500 White Dial or 126519 Silver Dial, which would you have and why ?
I requested 126519, has come in but couple issues for me personally, so I’m looking at deciding which one. Only I can make the decision trust me I get that, I’m only curious which one you’d want and why, or if you’ve gone that direction from 116500/126500 to 116519/126519 ? Or … I appreciate any comments, good bad ugly ..

I too lusted over the SS white dial Daytona. It was THE one I wanted. That is, until my AD got me a RG Sundust dial on OF. I no longer yearn for the SS white dial. Would I like to have it some day, maybe. But there is just nothing like a PM Daytona, especially on an OF so you can also have the ceramic bezel. The PM Daytona you have in mind is simply awesome, and looks similar to the SS model with the exception that it's a true panda dial. In my opinion, if you were to purchase this one your lust for the SS model would go away. Just one mans opinion.

They're both stunning watches. I think it depends more on if you want a watch on OysterFlex vs one on a bracelet. If you don't care about the bracelet and money isn't an issue I think the 126519 is an easy choice. If you do want a watch on a bracelet then the 116500 would be the choice.
The dial on the 126519 is very nice and I personally love the look along with the sunburst effect. Like the white dial I think it also goes with any outfit. The OsyterFlex is also insanely comfortable and especially now that Rolex added the glide lock it's even more of a winner. I'll also add that the new Daytonas are IMO a step up from the 116 generation due to the small changes that Rolex made. I think this generation strikes an ever better balance between sport and classy. You truly won't go wrong with either. I'd recommend trying both on and seeing the connection you have to them on your wrist to help in your decision |

126519 is visually more appealing to me. It is the next Rolex on my list to acquire. After seeing both the 116500 White dial and 126519 in person, the clear winner was the WG on OF combo for me.

Both are great watches. I have the white 116500 and am on the list for the 126519LN but if I had to only choose one, it would be the 116500.
It's more durable, has a well tested movement, and has the oyster bracelet. |

I own both in the 116 series.
I would part with the 500 before the 519 without hesitation. I got the 519 first because I couldn’t get the 500, but after owning both for over two years, the 519 is more substantial and special. Way more interesting dial too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

116500 all the way. Paying a premium for a gold watch on a rubber bracelet is criminal imho, regardless of how nice it is.

the 126519 is double the price of the panda. if money is not your concern, go for the 126519, otherwise go for the panda. the 126519 is more classy, more versatile and wear more comfortable than the panda.

Love them both and would ideally like to have both in the collection someday.
Having said that, the steel is by far the more legible- and therefore useful- of the two, (If we're talking function vs. aesthetics). So, if you want to pass the OF on to me, I won't protest. |

Personally I think you are going to regret parting with the 116500 white. It is a special watch and I think in 5-10 years will be much more desired than the white gold and more difficult to obtain.
It's a very difficult (and awesome) dilemma because the 126519 is pretty great. I am hoping to be allocated the black dial model. But not at the expense of parting with the 116500. If you want a rubber strap get an Everest or Rubber B and put on the 1165. I bought one for my sub and they are great! |

This is a tough one. Both are great pieces. If you compare them at MSRP, the steel version seems to be the better value proposition. In the grey market, 126519 wins. Other than that it’s really about personal preference. Personally, I think the 126519 is the more interesting watch.

Money being no object I like the PM one, but the 116500 is iconic if that’s important to you. The OF will go more unnoticed day to day, but even non watch people know a white dial Daytona is a Rolex and it will attract more attention. Whether that’s good or bad depends on the wearer.
