How hard is the Tudor GMT 58 to get?
I’m intrigued by it. I’m on The List for a DJ 36 green dial and I’m expecting this to take a while.
There aren’t really all that many watches left that I want ultimately. A GMT watch for traveling and one of the IWC blue dial pilot watches are really it - in addition to that DJ. I was wondering if getting the GMT 58 (on the rubber strap) now might help with the “purchase history” - or hurt as being perceived of hunting for another hot ticket item that people flip perhaps. It’s very reasonably priced and I like the design much better than current Rolex GMT watches. And it’s the perfect size (unlike what Omega has to offer for that complication or with the Worldtimer). |

I don't think it would help with purchase history given how in demand every new Tudor diver is, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get one if you want one. A Tudor dress watch on the other hand might just achieve that.
I like it much better than the current Rolex GMTs as well, so I called a dealer to get put on the list. |

Many Tudor types are getting much harder to get. Matter of time. Posts like this, all over the place help fuel the soon to be craze.

Short answer, I think the Tudor is not going to be readily available for some time.
If it's anything like the former GMT, it wasn't until October of the release year it showed up at my AD. I actually think this one will ultimately be more popular, so who knows. In terms of purchase history, I doubt if it's going to do anything to help with the wait for the DJ. |

You're right that the 2018 models took until autumn to be available but it seems like they've been getting out this year's quickly. The Black Bay Black was already at ADs when W&W happened, the 58 GMT is reaching them now a couple of months later. |

I got my 2018 BBGMT in June only 3 months after it was announced so go ahead and put in your request to you SA and see what happens.

Manchester Tudor boutique got theirs this week. Popped in there yesterday and they had one in stock. SA said it had arrived yesterday morning.
Would've gone for it if I didn't have the OG BB GMT |

Not at all. If anything, the hype has completely left Tudor. Looking at my ADs window yesterday they had the almost the full offerings (including all non limited FXDs). I was the first to get the black FXD last year and they told me after the sale, that they were expecting maybe two a year and a long wait for some time to come. Now, they’re just sitting there. This AD wouldn’t be in the habit of BS either.

Waiting for any Tudor reference is laughable.

I'm in the UK and got mine today. Get it if you like it, not just to improve your chances of getting a datejust.
Hard not to like it though (although the gilt is very divisive!) |

Don't buy something you do not want just to get something you want.
If you want it, that is another story.
