Nice watch OP.

I had understood that Rolex did not give permission for the watch to be used/referenced in the movie so they used a Seiko SNXJ90 which was a DJ look a like!

Correct! Common misconception here. In fact a tapestry dial 16233 was not used in the film.

It's an interesting thing...

In all my years of being on TRF, I never questioned this colloquial use of the term. But tonight, maybe because I'm getting closer to the curmudgeon mark, I looked it up...

Since 2010 we have random mnemonic identification codes. Not serialized by any logic.

Between late 1980's and 2010, Rolex had a static alpha prefix followed by a serial number. I think it is fair by normal American and British English to call these a series - like the G or X series of serial numbers.

Way back, from the dawn of numbering Rolex watches until late 1980's, all we had were numbers and they were serialized.
Those are classic serial numbers.

So we all agree?

I don’t agree…your posted pix states ‘usually one of a series’?

I love the depth and intricacy of this dial.

Icon4 Here is what was done for anyone interested in the service...

It pretty nice on the outside when I got it but definitely needed some love.

I requested a new crown/tube, hands and crystal.

The Steel City is very lucky to have Henne Jewelers in town. They are first class all the way!

I checked the code on the bracelet. It looks to be a service bracelet and has no stretch so it seems whoever had it last never wore it after that.
