Daytona 116515 - caseback interior engraving?

Hi Rolex lovers,
I have an interesting one... I got my hands on a used 116515 from 2022 and upon examining with a trusted watchmaker, we found that the inside of the caseback has a marking, probably from a service.

That woudl be interesting as the watch is only 2 years old... plus some marks on one of the levers?

The watchdealer (grey) didnt mention this to me nor does he know if service was performed (or at least not openly sharing?).

What are your thoughts on this? I am very confident (and my trusted watchmaker also) that the case, movement etc is genuine and all original parts. Just haven't come across this for a rather new watch..
While we are at it, we find that one of the oysterflex bands might not be genuine, have a look and share your thoughts please.

Thanks all!

Does the watch have a serial number ending (or containing) 7489?

I've seen some casebacks & bracelets that have had the serial numbers engraved into them. Possibly as a way to know which components go with a specific watch.

Oh that's super helpful... indeed that's part of the serial number.

Any guess if this is done during a service or by Rolex during assembly?

People can do strange things to their watches as do the used watch dealers. It is always a risk you take when buying used goods.

It's standard practice by ADs and RSCs to engrave the caseback, bracelet, and bezel with the last four digits of the serial number. This ensures all components are returned to the correct job for reassembly.

Thanks Pepperjack, this is helpful. We were just puzzled why a) the watch was serviced being only 2 years old and b) we couldn't find/get any record of it.
