Le Mans or Rainbow Daytona
I had an interesting time while on Holiday in Europe , after watch spotting my wife said Le Mans or Rainbow ?
For me it has to be the Le Mans in white Gold What do you think and why. My Thoughts are they have been making These Rainbows for years in every shade of gold and look a bit like jewellery with all them stones on them . Le Mans looks more like a man’s watch and with a clear case back unique movement , Only produced for 9 months , Both are amazing but the LM is my choice , next question would naturally be White or Yellow. |

If you’re able to buy these you should really have both.

Easy - Le Mans & white. I don’t like the rainbow - it’s too gaudy and not a fan of yellow gold. Turns out I can decide on a £250k watch quicker than a £250 one…

The Rainbow is my choice.
I have seen and held that thing and it is absolutely stunning. Pictures do not do it justice. The LM is hot, yes. But if im dropping that kind of money on a watch I want it to be flashy, exciting and unique.

Le Mans for me. It's a proper "if you know, you know" piece.
No matter how rich I was, I'd never be able to pull off a Rainbow Daytona |

Neither. Platona if it has to be a Daytona.

Le Mans, but may as well get both, you know, just to be sure. :)

Le Mans or Rainbow Daytona
This is how would I would rank them. I’d buy any at retail in a heartbeat, of course. My AD said he can only get me three of the four though. lol

Either Le Mans. I may actually be in the extreme minority and say I prefer the yellow gold model precisely because it isn’t stealthy. The Le Mans is really the perfect modern Daytona.
And yes, if you have seen a rainbow Daytona in person you’d agree it’s not a totally unreasonable comparison. They are stunning and the gem setting is on another level. A rainbow Daytona is way outside the scope of anything I could afford (I’d rather have a host of other pieces first), but I absolutely “get it” when people who have the means get one. If someone let me loose in the Rolex factory and said “choose one,” easily the Le Mans. |

Le Mans is a nod to days of old, so I’d rather get a 6263 or 6239 ..
Rainbow - not for me, way to Elton John flamboyant for me, just too many colours going on, need to pair it with a skittles t shirt, some may be able to carry it off I know I couldn’t so wouldn’t ever entertain it ..

Le Mans. I'd choose that over any existing catalogue or non-catalogue piece.

I'm not even a 'Daytona guy' but I would jump at a chance to acquire a Le Mans. I'd dump my whole collection for one of those.

How VIP do you need to be to actually get one of these - celebrity only it seems unless you are happy to spend 200-300k ?

As much as I would love to sport a Rainbow Daytona, I live in an area that it wouldn’t work on a number of levels. Now on vacation I would wear a Rainbow at a resort, etc…and love it. The Le Mans just works in more scenarios of my lifestyle and am more connected to its racing theme as a life long Porsche owner.

Le Mans
I'd still rather have a 6262 or 6264 before however. |

Le Mans. However price wise, and PM, and Daytona and all. Realistically just going for the Platinum variant.

With the Le Mans being discontinued so soon, and such a special watch, I'm really interested to see how it pans out pricewise in the coming years.
I'm certain there will be some ridiculous sales at Auction at some point in the future. It begs the question... is it a "BUY" now at these prices...? Not a problem I have, sadly, but an interesting thought nevertheless. Is it a $1m watch one day? |
