Finally

I put my name for a op41 celebration dial during watches and wonders. Received a call few days back and picked it up.When I went to the A.D they said they have received instructions from Rolex not to give the white tag. Don’t know why.

I love it when Rolex lovers get the call for the watches that they want.

Supposedly white tags are very important on these specifically if you ever go to resell down the line. Proves the dial wasn't swapped.

And Rolex wouldn't give those instructions - that sounds like your AD and their policy which is BS. I would politely ask for it as you are a collector and want the full set.

That's strange, picked up a green op41 and I asked the store manager about the swing tag and he said they always provide it with the watch.

No big deal though. The warrenty card carries all the info needed.

That'd be my thinking too. Imagine someone buy an OP black and put an aftermarket celebration dial and charge twice as much.

You'd still need to get the dial though?

Chinese made dial. Yes, you still need to buy one. Can't imagine it's more than $50.

What is on the white tag that proves the dial is authentic?

Serial number ?? Is the serial not on the watch it self?..not on the warranty card ?

I think the white tag removal might be a Canada policy. Same thing happened to me. I had a thread about it two weeks ago.

That's strange that they didn't give you the white tag with your OP41 celebration dial. Rolex can be quite particular about these things sometimes. Maybe there's a new policy or guideline they're following. Did you manage to get any more information from the AD about why Rolex instructed them not to include the white tag?

Different countries seem to have different rules with white tags

I was told in South Africa that they couldn't/wouldn't let me have it on a OP41 sale

But I have red/yellow/green OP41'S from the UK and all have tags

The dial colour colour code is included along with the serial so it's nice to know the dial was factory and not aftermarket if they were ever sold

But you can't wear a tag and the OP knows their's is authentic so congratulations and enjoy your cool new watch!

I’ve got all the white tags for every Rolex I’ve purchased.

Maybe this is AD specific

I received the white tag in 2008 when I purchased my 16600 Sea Dweller. Haven't seen it since. Love the celebration! Congratulations!

It’s the digits after the hyphen that relate to bracelet and dial combo.

In this case, 124300-0008 is the prefix for the celebration dial in 41mm. There’s so many replica celebration dials on the secondary market that it’s a crapshoot. It’s a reference I wouldn’t risk buying from a secondary dealer.

White tags have been replicated before, but in poor quality to the trained eye, so it’s still the best way to confirm dial and bracelet.

Not a Rolex policy. I have my white hang tags. Things are different in other countries, so could be a Rolex, Canada policy.
Congrats, though! Since you bought it at AD, you know it’s legit, and the correct dial code info is embedded in the chip of the warranty card.
You’re good!

According to A.D they had a meeting with Rolex personnel few days I picked up my watch. At that time they have instructed them not to give the white tag.I tend to believe the A.D since they were giving me the white tag for all other Rolex purchases. There are no more outer sleeves for the box.I don’t know whether they have been instructed not to give the white tag for this particular dial or for all Rolex .
