Availability in NY City
Traveling to NYC in a couple of weeks and am wondering what the chances of finding a ND Sub at a boutique? I'm assuming slim to none, but figured I'd ask.

It’s happened before. Your chances aren’t 0. But they’re close. Plus the tax is killer here.

Sir -
Go to 47th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues - you will find many a Rolex Sub for sale (new and pre-owned) for very competitive and fair prices….. |

Roman sharf from luxury Bazaar goes to New York City to buy watches a lot and he always says that the watches are very expensive however he does know how to talk them down they know him he knows them so he's able to get prices down so that he can make money off of the resale but as for you, expect things to be more expensive than shopping over the internet from other quality gray Market dealers

I think it's a decent idea but no bargains...and you end up walking out onto a NYC street with a big "mug me" bag in your hand. Research the best deal online and save the shoe leather + NY taxes. Most ship https://www.google.com/search?q=ny+d...710&dpr=3#ip=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I’ve been in most of the NY Rolex dealers, I would not say zero chance but not impossible. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
As far as the dealers on 47th St, Motion in Time is a watch only shop with a decent reputation. A dozen or more other shops on the block will have most of their inventory in the window. I’m sure you can haggle some. |

As others have said, not zero, but close to it.
On one hand, Bucherer NY probably gets the most supply in the US. On the other hand, the stores are surrounded by people with a staggering amount of wealth who buy watches like candy + tourists. Good luck! |

47th Street is a mine field. Lots of good dealers but also lots of shady dealers; unfortunately you won't know who is who until after you purchase.
Try all the ADs. |

Fact: Paying Cash gets you much better price on 47th Street.
Go there, find what you want and then get cash from dozens nearby….. |

On 47th Street, be careful of a Frankenwatch. Rolex on outside, substituted Chinese movement on the inside. Not easy to detect. I buy from ADs, many.successful with gray dealers.

There is some pretty horrible jewel encrusted stuff but even those started life as a genuine Rolex watch. |

Enjoy your time there.
It's fun to look around and check but ultimately you're probably better off buying from a trusted seller if you're wanting it with no wait. |

Supply and demand. How many people live in New York, and how many would want to buy a sub?

Was just in New York, pre-owned cases are filling up, lots of exhibition models. ADs need to start selling.
I would go in, see what happens, give your information. It may happen. They may call you back while you are in town. Good luck. |

What store do you have, it is a cesspit of vultures that place. I would avoid on steroids unless you want a watch that has been opened and closed more than once.

Walked past a diamond sitting store today and the number of Pepsis and subs in the window made me think they all had to be fake. Didn’t actually go in. Taking a stroll to bucherer right now hoping to see a meteorite dial in person.

Update:
Bucherer saw my Rolex Wimbledon I was wearing and the CPO staff on the side I entered was super friendly. The new Rolex side didn’t even speak to me. Interesting world… |
