New pickup - 2010 Explorer II

Hey all,

Picked up this Explorer 2 yesterday. 2010 model, 3186 movement. Got it from Subdial in the UK, previous owner purchased it from Bucherer on the CPO programme, condition is pretty flawless from what I can see so far.

Loving the size, probably my fave rolex i've owned so far. Had the ceramic no date sub, a rhodium DJ 41, 43mm sea dweller and 41mm OP. This is my first foray into 5 digit and ive gotta say I think its superior.

Anyway...

I really like that watch. That’s a great everyday wear piece for those who travel a lot and love Rolex but don’t feel comfortable wearing modern Rolex in locations that can be dubious.

I love the black dial.

The 5 digit Exp2 is the BEST ....my AD (also CPO) just got the 5 digit white dial but asking $12k...lol. But I did handle it and it looks SO much better than the current oversized 42mm Exp2. The current Exp2 is just a large blank dial with a lot of empty space. 5 digit had the correct case and dial dimensions, IMO.

I hope Rolex does a redesign of the current Exp2 and goes back to the same 40mm case. I'll sign up at my AD in a heartbeat.

Congrats! Exp II is great! I believe late 5 digits were the pinnacle of Rolex really.

Looks great. Out of curiosity do you still have the OP41? How does this wear in comparison?

Cannot beat a 5 digit Exp 2. Black dial is the way to go IMO. Looks great!

Nice!! I'll take any Rolex out of the 2010 catalog over today's models.

Congrats! I have the 216570 and feel it's a bit too heavy on my wrist. Considering a 5 digit.
