It's a wonderful piece of Rolex nostalgia.
Most likely in 14K and worth about $2,500 - $3,000 (my personal opinion of course and worth exactly what you paid for). |

I would guess Leo is spot on with the value.
A very unique [at least for me] example. Seems you've already realised the real value since it has family connections. dP

How about some shots of the clasp inside and out. Excelant shape, I would say all original . Band seams to fit lugs very nice, the clasp is along the same design as the current and I have seen a few vintage ladies watches with simular bands. Once it's yours you can have it opened and check some servic. Either way, very nice watch.

visited my dad over the weekend, we were discussing wristwatches, then he went upstairs to show me this one, he told me somebody offered to buy it from him for $6000 but he refused, anyway whether the watch is expensive or not, its our family heirloom given to my dad by his father and hopefully ( still crossing my fingers ) be given to me. hehe wish me luck

Ed,
I think it could be a model 9659 and if it is it should be in 18K and not 14K. What does the stamps on the clasp say? |
