Wg blro

Why is the WG BLRO not well liked in the Rolex community?

Is it because of the price?

Would you take the WG BLRO vs WG Daytona (non Le man)?

Once again debating my one watch collection... Selling my Sub with a WG version of BLRO or Daytona (non Le Man).

I love the WG BLRO. But it's expensive and the SS BLRO is a fantastic watch. Each to our own.

I have owned the WG BLRO several times and it is a cool watch. Problem is I like the SS BLRO on Jubilee better. Factor in the price and you have an answer.

I prefer SS professional references

I also assume price has something to do with it as to the uninitiated they look very similar

Love the WG, just that it looks too similar to the SS version but costs 3 times more.

It’s a beautiful watch but I prefer the SS version simply for the fact it’s a lot more wearable. When I tried the WG Pepsi at an AD, I couldn’t believe how heavy it was. I can see it getting uncomfortable real fast. It is HEAVY!.

The SS version is the perfect balance. Perfect weight, classic black dial that goes with everything and looks beautiful!. Not to mention steel holds up to daily use much better than gold. Heck if you just look at gold the wrong way it will scratch.

It is heavy but after a while you don't realise that it is on your wrist! I find the same with the Platona as well.

Same as the WG sub right now and WG DD’s; lots of money for a watch that “looks like stainless” to the layperson. Many folks (not necessarily forum members) buy Rolex watches as status symbols so if they are gonna pay for a gold watch they want everyone to know it’s gold.

See Nick’s (1stAMG) picture above; it’s a stunner!

I love my 126719 BLRO! Have a 116509 Daytona that I also love. Two killer watches in understated white gold are fantastic watches that can be worn daily. Don't think I can compare the two and wouldn't want to have to choose between the two, but if I had to pick one to keep forever, it would be the GMT Master BLRO.

I think the blue dial will end up like the Smurf. People won’t realize how nice a watch it truly is until it’s gone. There are too many GMT variants now and see a culling in the near future.

WG BLRO is an amazing piece especially with that meteorite dial. I’m considering one right now let’s see if the AD can find one?

Cheers,

For me , If it's the same exact watch, config and color dial. It goes platinum >SS > Rolex WG > 18k YG >anything else.

Multiple factors: cost, color of the metal vs the feel of prestige when wearing. My favorite is Platinum because it looks almost like SS but just make the wearing experience special due to its weight and feel.

Is that a steel 69200 bracelet on a white gold case? Looks fantastic - really can’t see the difference in metals in that lighting.
