Cape Cod polishing example:

I thought I'd try Cape Cod polishing cloths, so I go to the website:

and buy a can:



Here's the tiny little scratches on the bezel that are the problem:



I cut a little square of the nice vanilla smelling cloth and wrap it around a toothpick:



Rub lightly back and forth (for me about 50 times) and wipe off:



Now I have a nice shiny bezel like new again!



P. S. Anyone want me to polish your watch, just send it to me!

The Cape Cod's do a great job as long a you keep them away from the crystal in case it has an anti-reflective coating on it. Otherwise I use that as my final step when polishing my PAMM111. First I start with Wenol Red, the Wenol Blue and on to the CC.

Might want to check those products out as well, using all three provides excellent depth.

Works with it all, be careful to only use on polished areas, not brushed.

Cape Cod will work with Gold and SS...Not sure about platinum though...

I have Rolex Sub 16610 and GMT Master both are all SS and its brushed (center link is not shiny). Can I use Cape Cod cloth to remove scratches? or somthing else. I read on some forum that I user Autosolve instead as Cape Cod is only for shiny surface. Let me know please.

Yes, I have purchased Cape Cod polish as well, even before I receive my Daytona, as a preventive measure. No need yet, however "Murphys Law" will one day show it's ugly head and I will without doubt knock my watch into something like the Empire State Building. Oh well, I am prepared.

Yes. It works wonderfully, as long as you are VERY CAREFUL. I cut a very small piece of the cloth and use a Q-Tip handle behind it to get to the small flutes individually. With care and patience, the results are excellent!

Cape Cod is a great product for us watch enthusiasts. I polished the bracelet of my Breitling Skyland and it looks new.

The scratches on my watch give it character! I don't know if I will ever polish them.

Did you only polish where it was scratched? Did the finish match the rest of the bezel or did you have to polish the whole bezel?

Good point: I only polished where the scuff marks were; I now can't see a difference in the polished area and the area near it. Works great

I use a cape cod on my Sub Date. works wonders also have just started using a Bergeon grit pad for the bracelet, easy job and brings the watch just like new if you take care.

I use a Cape Cod cloth on my Concord watch bracelet and my brother's GMT PCL's......works great!

...and I second the fact that gloves are needed!

Does anyone have thoughts on the best way to remove scraches on the brushed links on a bracelet? It sounds like the Cap Cod works well for polished areas but not for brushed areas?

Guys, I am confused now… I was to take my watches to polishing, but I went to Selfridges London today and they quoted me £150 for the omega, so I didn't even asked how much my daytona ss is.

I would be happy to do them myself, but from what I see above there is difference between polished and bruised areas ( guys, i love watches but my terminology is crap) and as far as i understand both the rolex and the omega (constellation automatic) are a mixture of these?

So, is there a tutorial of how to get a daytona ss up to speed without paying a smaller fortune for it?

Sure it works on the brushed areas only thing is you have to re-brush them again.

I use a Bergeon 2834 -C for that with good result.
