Panerai Owners?
Just curious how many TRF members have a Panerai in their collection
Post pics if you have them or what your Dream Pannie would be.

Pam 111 H just arrived!!!
Hi there,
this beautiful baby (arrived a couple of days ago)it's in my collection. PAM 111 H sandwich dial. This is my first Panerai watch, I never had one first. I love vintage watches, anyway this one has a great history that's why I bought it. Ciao Alberto |

Hi John
There is a Panerai in the family....my dad now has my first Panerai, a PAM2D. Dream Pannie? I think I was fortunate to actually own that for a while: 5218-201/A Logo. |

Don't own one, but I'm dreaming for the 233 that hutchman has. Oooh, how I love that watch.

Don't own one and it's unlikely I ever will.
But I'm not quite as rabid as C.J. I'm much more tolerant of ugly watches.

Does owning a strap count?
I don't own one at the moment... perhaps further down the road, but I don't have a hankering for one. If I were to get one, I'll need something similar to a 195 but with a regatta dial. I don't like the power reserve indicators.

BASE rules!
That was the first Panerai that I purchased and dare I say it will be with me for the long haul. I would probably get rid of the Rollies before that one left the collection-(sorry JJ!) There is something special about that simple painted dial and it's lack of any extras... |

nice one hutchman... love your wifes PAM too... I dunno, something about the 48 and 49 really sings to me BUT its getting up there a bit in price (remember how much trouble i got in over the GMT?? I dont wanna go home and get in trouble again) the 48 is $6kAU and the 112 is $5kAU brand new in box from the AD. I'm thinking next time, I wanna go to the AD and get a new one.....

I hear all of you on the ZERO, that is the one still on my Radar. Carlo at the GTG had one, that he let me wear for quite a while
Here is a shot of my 210 Radiomir on the Mari Paci strap I got from the GTG. Beautiful strap

And you notice what was not in that collection. If I ever did break down, it would most likely be for a Rad 242 or a Lum 244.

I have a Base 00000 and absolutely love it. JJ thought it was a bit big for my wrist and i have to agree but thats where the fun lies. It is supposed to look imposing and big. I get quite a few comments on it.
Would love a 1950 or militare but thats very expensive and i dont want to buy used especially with the recent spate of fakes and scamms that have led to good paneristi being ripped off. AD for me only. |

Honest answer? Held it, admired it, loved the feel of it, appreciated the finish of it and also thrilled at the heft of it.
After all that, did I like it? Sorry, NO!! Had absolutely no appeal for me. Met up with Don (sub2004) only last week and held his Pam up close and personal. Frankly, it did absolutely nothing for me. I'm not saying I despise it, but at the same time, it doesn't get me drooling and excited like a Rolex would. And, yes, I have seen many other watches that excite me, but Pannies just don't....wish they would, but they just don't...try as hard as I might!! However, in all fairness, the one that might get my adrenalin pumping would have to be the Chrono version (Pam 122 I think) with the Hi-beat 36,000 A/hr movement and the SS/Ti original bracelet. Now that's a PANERAI!!! If someone could post a picture of it, it would make me very happy. Thanks!! JJ

I am wanting a white face watch. See the that Panerai has one in the top picture. Is black considered the official color? Is a white one any less of a watch?

Not at all, Robert. In fact, I think the white face Pannies outshine many of the black faced ones!!!

Had 4 of them: 111, 114, 88, 183. Sold all but the 114. That's my wife's and she loves it I rarely miss them, but I often miss some of the Rollies I've sold.

I have one, obviously, my circa 1999 Panerai PAM01B.
As for a grail Panerai... I'd love to get a PAM210. I wore John's for much of Saturday night and it just felt so right. That's a realistic goal, particularly if I can swap my ExpII for one, without costing me a penny. Otherwise, I would LOVE a PAM190, a PAM0 logo would be cool, and also a 114 base would be a great addition. Also, Mike's 233 got my mojo going in a big way too! |
