Tried on the WG Blue Sub...

What a nice submariner. If I had the extra cash, I would pick one up.

It's heavy, well built, good looking. A one of a kind Submariner - I haven't seen one on anyone else's wrists.

HEAVY.... feels solid.

Have you guys seen on at your ADs? Is this a rather rare piece?

All of the Melbourne ADs (3) have them... or at least did a few months ago. I tried it myself, along with a full YG GMT IIc. Both impressively hefty, but I'm a stainless steel sort of chap...

Cheers

My AD had one and I had it on. I had to take it off quickly for risk of depleteing my savings account right on the spot. Very impressive watch.

Yeah what an awesome watch. I love that blue dial and bezel, I have to agree that it felt great on the wrist!

If the watch is on its own, the blue dial and bezel are OK. On the other hand if it is side by side with a blue 16613, I feel the colour is lacking on the new model. It lack the richness of the older model and the dial does not shimmer as you turn it in the light.

On the other hand, if someone was giving one away I would not say no thanks!!

I agree that the new blue sub color looks different (and better) in person than in pictures, it just seems to be a color where pictures and real life are two different things.

My local AD had one. I tried it on. Feels like a very substantial watch and looks great, but pricey. Wish I had the extra cash. Would upgrade from my TT 16613 to WG blue sub in a minute.

I tried one on before knowing that a WG Sub had come out but noticed that it appeared different from other Subs in the window. I personally love the new blue but it is certainly different from prior blues used by Rolex. I guess the ceramic is the reason. Felt great though!

I've seen it in most ADs in Singapore so it isn't rare by any means.

That said, I haven't seen it on anyone's wrist - yet!

Definitely a nice watch, but for that price I'd go with an Audemars.

Not worth the money. I'd like to pick a DDII instead

The blue is just 'wrong', it should have been the older, deeper blue that exuded true class rather than just bright 'bling'.

I worry about some of the models being designed for wannabee rappers, there's just something going wrong with some designs. Rolex have some classic, classic designs and some of the upgrades are wonderful, but the Leopard, YM II and the blue of this sub are just gonna look terrible in years to come - hell, they look terrible now.

Perhaps I'm stuck in a time-warp and just don't understand the new designs.
